0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware is a type of malware, which can cause pretty unpleasant problems to anyone who gets it on their PC. This threat belongs to the Ransomware category and there is hardly any other virus out there which can match its maliciousness. Typically, the Ransomware-based viruses cause harm by preventing you from accessing your device or the files kept on it and then asking you to pay a ransom for their liberation. As a recently discovered representative of the Ransomware group, 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware follows the same blackmailing scheme. This particular infection operates as a cryptovirus which targets your personal data and secretly encrypts it in order to make it inaccessible for an indefinite period of time. The virus then displays a ransom-demanding message on the victims’ screen and asks for a certain amount of money in exchange for the liberation of the files from the secret encryption. The affected users are typically given a short deadline to make a ransom payment in exchange for which they are promised to receive a special decryption key that is supposed to reverse the malicious file encryption. The number of victims, which this new Ransomware piece has infected is growing rapidly and if you are one of the many users who have already had their files sealed by this malware, make sure you stay with us until the end of this post. Below, you will find a detailed Removal Guide with instructions on how to detect and remove 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware from your PC. We should warn you, though, that the elimination of the infection may still not be enough to liberate the encrypted files and bring them back to normal. In this case, additional steps may need to be taken to recover your data. Nevertheless, we have attempted to cover this too and we’ve tried to come up with several file-recovery methods which you can find in a separate data recovery section in the guide Just keep in mind that no guarantees can be given in the case of a Ransomware attack, because infections like 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware are highly advanced, and the recovery from their encryption may not always be successful.

Why is Ransomware so fearful?

Ransomware has no match in terms of its maliciousness. This is so because it greatly differs from most of the other known online threats in the way is causes its harm. A typical virus will try to damage something in your system or corrupt it. An infection like 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware, on the other hand, will not run any destructive processes. In fact, the malware will keep your machine completely functional and won’t corrupt your data in any way. After all, it needs it intact so that it can later blackmail you for the locke files and ask you to pay a ransom in exchange for their liberation. The well-known method of file encryption can perfectly serve this purpose. Moreover, since it does not corrupt anything, it cannot be detected by most of the security programs and will most probably not be identified as malicious. Sadly, visible symptoms may often not be present neither at the moment of infection nor during the encryption process. After 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware finishes with its secret file-locking process, however, it clearly places its ransom demands on your screen and reveals its presence.

How to Decrypt 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware files

We have a comprehensive (and daily updated) guide on how to decrypt your files. Check it out here.

The ransom payment – how can you bypass it?

The hackers who are in control of the Ransomware typically rely on surprise and panic in order to make the victims pay the amount they demand. Short deadlines, direct threats, different tricky scenarios and promising data-recovery solutions are regularly used in the blackmailing practice of the criminals. However, no guarantees can actually be given for the future of the encrypted files. Even if the affected users fulfill all the ransom demands, they can never be sure that the hackers will send a decryption key, let alone that it will really work. Therefore, opting for the ransom payment is considered as the least advisable option.

The alternatives are not so many but giving them a try won’t cost you a thing and they may eventually be worth it. You can read more about them in the file-recovery section after you remove 0x6f772eb660bc05fc26df86c98ca49abc Ransomware from your system.

Ransomware protection and prevention.

A basic rule about protection against any sort of malware, whether it is a Trojan horse, a Ransomware or some other virus, is to have reliable antivirus software and to be mindful when browsing the web. You really shouldn’t click on every sketchy ad, pop-up, spam email or intriguing attachment, especially if it comes from some unknown or non-reputed sender. If you do like to surf the Internet carelessly, at least don’t forget to regularly backup your valuable information and keep it on an external drive or cloud. This way, you can always restore it in a case of a Ransomware attack or some other type of harm.
