The encrypted files aren’t “infected” – they do not contain or spread the virus. The removal tool helps you get rid of the virus itself, which is an important thing to do because if the malware stays in the computer, more files are likely to get locked in the future. Sadly, however, even the suggestions there may not always solve the problem – it’s just that in some cases, there isn’t a working solution and the victims simply have to wait until one gets developed.
