Perhaps you are one of many users who have experienced the irritating consequences of an ad-generating program on your computer. The particular Adware member we will be talking about in the article below is AdRemover for Google Chrome “Malware”, and it may be the possible reason for your recent ad-related irritation. Briefly speaking, this kind of program may affect all the browser apps you have on your PC, be it Explorer, Firefox, Chrome or any other ones. What’s more, the broadcast of an incredibly big number of online ads like pop-ups, tabs, fancy banners and boxes varying in shape, size and color could be possible.

What could be expected from Adware?

To begin with, we are going to define what Adware really represents. All members of this software category have the ability to broadcast many various ads. These advertisements are totally legal since their simple aim is to serve the needs of the advertising industry, and ensure the successful online promotion of goods and services. The production of such ads is the consequence of the joint efforts of programmers as well as producers, who work together with the goal to promote certain products and services. In fact, the name with which this strategy is known in the world of online marketing is the so-called pay per click scheme. The more ads the affected user sees, the more effectively these programs are believed to function, and the bigger amounts of money their creators earn.

Bundles: the basic and most common Adware source

Generally, the most usual sources of these ad-generating programs are the so-called software bundles. A bundle is a range of different software like games, apps, Adware-based programs, put together and distributed as a whole for free. When a user downloads such a bundle, an infection does not occur right away. In fact, all the bundles and the programs inside them first need to be installed personally by a user on any device in order to start affecting the targeted device. Despite that, the installation process might be confusing, and may often be disregarded by the majority of users. Actually, the way you install any bundle, app or game is what can affect the condition of your PC in terms of  any possible infection-related problems.

The way program bundles should be installed in:

As soon as the installer is loaded, you have to carefully review all the features there and what they provide. If necessary, there is even a help button-, which you can click on to read the extra information that will appear. Of all the possible options that will be displayed, you have to try to find the ones giving you the freedom to manually choose the programs/ features that are going to be incorporated into your PC. In general, these options give you the chance to reject any likely modifications that might be enabled, and change your browser apps. The exact features you need to try selecting are the following: the Custom or the Advanced installation methods. We can say that they are the safest ones for sure, and may even prevent Ransomware and Trojans from infecting your device. It is perhaps expected that you will need to stay away from the shortcut options any installer wizard provides. They can be: the Quick, the Default, and the Easy. Installing software via those options is likely to get you infected with some ad-producing programs.
