BananaCrypt Ransomware

Ransomware – today’s biggest online threat!

The representatives of the Ransomware category are typically very sophisticated viruses, which may affect your most valuable data and keep it hostage for a ransom, exactly as we explained above. However, this is not the only way such malware can cause you harm. Apart from encrypting files, some versions may block the access to the screen of the infected device and again ask you to pay a certain amount of money to access it. Your smartphone, tablet, phablet or other digital devices may also be targeted and attacked by this malware, so no device is completely safe from a possible contamination. No matter what they block, however, the whole idea of these infections is to serve as blackmail tools for the hackers, who stay behind them. The criminals use them to extort money from their victims and oftentimes employ different manipulative and threatening strategies to achieve their goal.

There are experts, which may be able to help you remove BananaCrypt Ransomware and eventually recover some of your data. If you want to try your own removal skills first, we suggest you carefully follow the instructions in the Removal Guide below. We advise you use the help of the professional BananaCrypt Ransomware removal tool, though, as it will run a deep scan on your system and detect any hidden malicious components and other possible threats. If there are suspicious IPs below “Localhost” – write to us in the comments.

Type msconfig in the search field and hit enter. A window will pop-up:

How to Decrypt BananaCrypt files

We have a comprehensive (and daily updated) guide on how to decrypt your files. Check it out here.

If the guide doesn’t help, download the anti-virus program we recommended or try our free online virus scanner. Also, you can always ask us in the comments for help!

BananaCrypt Ransomware, for instance, is a new tool, packed with advanced encryption abilities. This malware can sneak into your PC without being detected and even your antivirus may not be able to spot and stop it on time. With the same stealth, it will review all of your data storages, make a list of files that belong to certain commonly used file formats (.doc, .dox, .jpeg, .jpg, .txt, etc.) and encrypt them one by one with its complex encryption. Their file extensions may also be changed just as a preventive measure, which will ensure that you cannot open or use any file, regardless of the software you may try to utilize. When the encryption process completes, a ransom message will appear on the screen, threatening you to destroy your data forever if you refuse to pay a certain amount of money as ransom. The hackers may set a short deadline and may insist on an immediate transfer, which may and often is requested in a certain cryptocurrency (like BitCoins, for instance). This is probably the worst form of online blackmailing one may encounter, because neither the ransom payment nor any other alternative method can guarantee the successful recovery of the data. Still, there are a few possible solutions to escape the ransom payment and still restore the files that we suggest you should explore before you decide how to deal with BananaCrypt Ransomware.

What to do in case of an infection:

No matter how insistent the hackers are, paying the ransom as soon as possible is not usually a good idea. As we have explained to many of our readers, doing so will not guarantee that you will save your files from the encryption and that everything will be back as it was before the attack. After all, the cyber criminals are only interested in getting the money in the fastest possible way, but they oftentimes have no real intentions of sending a decryption key or whatever decryption solution to their victims. In fact, once you pay, they may decide to increase the ransom and keep blackmailing you again and again until they can extort as much money as they you’d be willing to send to them. For this reason, you should better not play their game and instead seek alternative solutions. Instead of expecting help from the hackers, contact a cybersecurity professional.
