Best Gaming Mouse 2020

Gamers know very well that a good mouse is essential to complete the perfect gaming experience. And some are even as particular about the mouse they use for their gaming sessions as they are about the computer itself. The same is also often true for the keyboards, but we have created a separate post for that, which you can read here. And if you would like to see what laptops we have tested and determined to be the best in 2020, be sure to check out that post here.

As far as mice go, though, we tested quite a few of those, too. And as a result we came up with the following list of mice best suited for gaming, based on different criteria. We would love to hear about your experience with any of our picks in the comment section below. And if you think that there is a gaming mouse that deserves to be included in this article, then please let us know.

Best budget-friendly option: Logitech Prodigy G203

Logitech1 1024x395

Not all mice need to cost you a small fortune. And if you aren’t willing to pay more for a mouse than you are for an actual game, then Logitech offers a great affordable option that’s good value for money. This option will set you back around $40 or slightly more, but it comes with some extras nevertheless.

The most attractive feature here is that you will get to benefit from programmable RGB lighting. Not bad for the price, wouldn’t you agree? And indeed, the design is fairly impressive, with the lighting supporting a whopping 16.8 million colors with a whole range of different effects to play around with. On top of that, you can even save your lighting settings to different profiles and for different games.

Sensitivities range between 200 and 8,000 DPI and there are four sensitivity levels to choose from using the DPI button to quickly switch between levels when you have to.

Best leftie option: Razer DeathAdder Left-Handed Edition

Are you left-handed? Then why settle for a mouse that’s suited for right-handed players when you can enjoy one tailored for you? Razer comes prepared with a solution for lefties and it provides a new layer of comfort to your gaming experience.

That being this option’s main selling point, it does also come with a few other attractive features that are worth mentioning, of course. Visually, the left-handed edition of the DeathAdder is pretty humble and doesn’t come with a whole lot of bling. Instead, its focus is more on outstanding performance, with an optical sensor that boasts a sensitivity of up to 3,500 dots per inch. The mouse’s tracking speed reaches up to 120 inches per second, and movement is made smooth and quick thanks to the Zero-Acoustic Ultraslick” mouse feet.

There are 5 buttons to help you program your Razer mouse to match your preferences. In addition, you can enjoy a lightning-fast one-millisecond report rate to your PC ensured also by the gold-plated USB connector. And it retails starting at an agreeable $60, which is great value for money considering this option’s exceptionally high performance.

Best ambidextrous option: Razer Lancehead

This is a mouse designed to fit just about any hand. Whether you are left or right-handed, Razer has taken care to offer something that works perfectly for both. And just like the previous option, it won’t cost you an arm and a leg either. The Razer Lancehead will set you back around $60 or so, but it will also provide you with a bunch of enjoyable features.

The main selling point here is, of course, the design. Sporting a streamlined shape with rubberized grips on both sides, the Lancehead fits nicely in your palm and prevents you from losing your grip on it.

There’s a total of 9 programmable buttons to play with. And the design is complete with a stylish RGB strip that runs along both sides of the mouse. Typically for the brand, the logo is illuminated smack in the middle of the palm area, but so is the mouse wheel, as well.

Razer’s Synapse software will allow you to customize the nine buttons, define the sensitivity levels and program the illumination, which conversely supports 16.8 million colors. And if you’d rather opt for something different than the regular black gaming mouse, Lancehead also comes in other colors, including white and pink.

Best wireless option: Logitech G903 Lightspeed

Going wireless generally tends to mean sacrificing performance… generally. But that doesn’t have to be the case, and with Logitech G903 Lightspeed it certainly isn’t. That is why this particular model tends to run a little pricier than the other options we have listed here. In fact, prices for this Logitech mouse go from $70 and up, so it might not appeal to everyone.

But to those who don’t mind the price tag, this is a great opportunity to cut the cord and enjoy the benefits of wireless gaming. Just like the Razer Lancehead, the Lightspeed boasts an ambidextrous design making it sit comfortably in almost any hand. And on top of that, thanks to the manufacturer’s PowerPlay charging station, you can forget about having to change batteries as well.

This is also the mouse with the most buttons in our list – 11. And they are all programmable with Logitech’s desktop software, even though technically speaking you will probably only be able to make use of 9 of these buttons. But the extra buttons are part of what make this mouse accessible to left-handed players.

The charging station (although it comes at a costly extra $100) is quite large and wireless, and it’s plugged into your PC via USB. But you can still use the mouse even without it, if you don’t feel like going all out.
