This page aims to help you remove BestOffersForToday “Virus”. These BestOffersForToday “Virus” removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

In today’s article we will be describing a program from the so-called browser hijacker category – BestOffersForToday “Virus”. Among its basic characteristics we can point out its somewhat irritating way of generating various online ads such as banners and pop-ups. Another thing that is typical of this kind of software are the following effects: setting of completely unfamiliar homepages and search engines plus making your browser apps send you to undesired online locations. Talking about the software family BestOffersForToday “Virus” belongs to, we can mention that all its sibling programs may only affect your browsers, no other component of your system, just the apps you use to surf the web- from Chrome and Firefox to Opera and Explorer. If you want to learn more about this kind of programs, continue reading.

How could a normal hijacker be described?

When it comes to hijackers, we can point out that this kind of software products could certainly be defined as experts at broadcasting often annoying ads. All the known hijackers have been created with the single purpose of displaying lots of advertisements and motivating the exposed users to purchase the products or services, promoted by them.  As we have mentioned above, there may also occur some strange redirecting and the setting of new and unknown homepages and search engines. There is nothing wrong about all that. All ad-showing programs are totally legal. They are developed as a result of the mutual work of goods producers and software developers with the purpose of achieving the best possible online advertisements of what ever has to be promoted. In this sort of business relations both parties are equally invested in the advertising process.

Why can some users mistake a hijacker for a form of malware?

In fact, as we have mentioned before in this article, there isn’t anything illegal about browser hijackers and about BestOffersForToday “Virus” particularly. In spite of that, lots of people around the globe may still mistake hijackers for viruses. This may happen because of their quite spoiled reputation – the produced advertisements may annoy or confuse some users so much that they could report this sort of an infection as an intrusive or irritating one. That’s the reason why this software has been labelled as potentially unwanted by many experts in the field. To further prove our arguments about the rather harmless nature of browser hijackers, we are going to thoroughly explain the differences between a version of Ransomware (one of the most notorious malicious software categories) and a hijacker such as BestOffersForToday “Virus”.

The Ransomware virus is likely to infect your computer by itself, and illegally check all your data for the files you may consider most important (based on the number of times you have accessed these files). After that, all such data will eventually end up locked up and you – dishonestly harassed into paying ransom to the people who are behind this harmful virus – the hackers. Such malware is often extremely difficult to remove. On the other hand, the hijacker-type programs we are aware of are only capable of performing two shady things – displaying an overwhelming number of ads while you are surfing the Internet; and managing to match the content of these pop-ups and banners to your last or latest online searches by following your latest web activities. Nonetheless, no other files will be available to any hijacker-based program and this kind of software may never use them or modify them in any way.

How your PC is likely to end up catching hijackers like BestOffersForToday “Virus”:

If we talk about the potential distribution methods of ad-generating products, they may indeed appear to be too many and too various. From shareware to a software bundle, hijackers may be lurking inside everything. The most popular source, though, still remain the creations named program bundles. These mixes of free new apps and recently-introduced games could appear very fascinating to you. Consequently, you might want to download or try some of them. The real issue with them could be the fact that they are likely to also contain ad-broadcasting programs (browser hijackers) and you might NOT get notified about that. You could simply get tempted to install the whole bundle and that’s where the ad-disaster could start. For the purpose of avoiding such irritations, you need to install any bundle or any deeply wanted program, game or app from its content in the most sensible way. This is always the most detailed method that will provide you with the most customization options. The only two installer options that could perform such an installation process are these ones: the Custom (often referred to as Customized) or the advanced one. Select either of them and you get the real opportunity to control what is getting installed on your PC. All the other installation features could be very suspicious. Do not use them.
