 The hijacker-related files and settings associated with Chrome Glass must be removed from your computer in order to completely remove the potentially unwanted program from your system. So, here are the things you need to do to get started:

• Begin by removing any programs that may have introduced the hijacker to your computer.
• In the Task Manager, search for and end any unwanted or rogue processes you find.

Then, go back to the Windows search field and search for the Task Manager entry there. Open Task Manager and have a look at the Processes tab to see what’s going on. Search for Chrome Glass or another process that you believe is associated with the hijacker, then right-click and select Open File Location to view its files.

Using the Windows search field again, type msconfig, then press Еnter.

Go to the Startup tab of the System Configuration window and uncheck any strange, suspicious-looking, or unknown manufacturer entries, that you believe are linked to Chrome Glass, then click OK.

In the next step, press the Start Key and R and carefully copy the following line in the Run dialog box on your screen:

notepad %windir%/system32/Drivers/etc/hosts

Click Ok and in this way, you should access the Hosts file on your computer.

If you see nothing unusual in your Hosts file, simply close it and proceed to the following instructions:

Open Network Connections by typing its name into the Windows search field. After that, follow the instructions below:

1. Right-click on the Network Adapter you’re using and select Properties from the pop-up menu.
2. Next, select Internet Protocol Version 4 (ICP/IP) with the pointer and then click on the new Properties button at the bottom.
3. Select the Advanced button in the new window, but first ensure that the DNS setting is set to Obtain DNS server address automatically.
4. In the DNS tab of the new window, remove anything that appears like a rogue DNS and click OK.

Remove any traces of Chrome Glass from your browser before you move on.

After that, click on the Shortcut tab, then, in the Target text field, delete everything after “.exe”.

When you’re done, press the “OK” button.

Next, open your browser, go to the main menu button, and select More Tools/Add-ons, after that look for Extensions and open it. The upper-right corner of most browsers typically has the main menu button. The upper-left corner of the screen is where you’ll find Opera’s main menu.

The Extensions/Add-ons category is a good place to look for anything suspicious, such as entries associated with Chrome Glass or other unknown extensions. Before you delete any of these, make sure they’re disabled first. It is sometimes necessary to deactivate an extension in order to remove it completely.

Now select Privacy/Privacy and Security from the browser’s Settings (or Options) menu.

Select the Clear browsing data or Clear data option as the next step. Please note that this step may log you out of the sites that you have logged into, so make sure you know your passwords.

In the Windows search field, type Regedit and hit Enter. This will start the Registry Editor on your screen. To use regedit.exe, you’ll need to be logged in as the administrator on your computer. Next, open a Find box (CTRL and F) and type the name of the hijacker in it. Select Find Next and search the registry for any entries that have the same name. Repeat the search and remove the following item until no more results for Chrome Glass are found, then delete the first entry that is discovered. If no entries appear in this way, manually delete or uninstall them from these locations in the Registry Editor’s left-hand pane:

• HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—–Random Directory.
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—Microsoft—-Windows—CurrentVersion—Run– Random
• HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—Microsoft—Internet Explorer—-Main—- Random

Search for folders with long and random names, as well as their subfolders (keys).
