This page aims to help you remove Fasst “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

A potentially unwanted application, called Fasst “Virus”, is recently causing browsing disturbance to some web users. Our “How to remove” team has been reached by a couple of people, who are complaining about the never-ending stream of ads, pop-ups and banners that this application is generating on their Chrome, Firefox, Explorer or Edge. This piece of software seems to make the affected browser unresponsive to the users’ searches and tends to flood their screen with various aggressive and hard-to-remove advertisements and new tabs. In addition, Fasst “Virus” is reported to initiate automatic page-redirects to different commercial websites and unfamiliar web locations, and this way, prevents the people from landing on the sites they want. Such activity could naturally be questioned and even taken for a virus infection, however, to your relief, this is not the case. You are most likely dealing with an Adware application, which is programmed to generate sponsored commercials during your browsing sessions. In the text that follows, we will tell you more about this type of software and about Fasst “Virus” in particular, so you can better understand what to expect and how can you deal with it in the best possible way.

Usually, what causes disturbance to the users, who have Adware on their system, is the fact that this software, as we said above, generates hard-to-remove ads, pop-ups and automatic page-redirects, during each browsing session. There are some other common and quite questionable activities, which you may like to learn about if you have Fasst  “Virus” or similar ad-generating program on your PC, so stay with us, because in the guide below we are going to tell you more about them. Should you need assistance to remove the nagging ads once and for all, we’ve got you covered! There is a removal guide and an automatic removal tool on this page, which will help you uninstall the source of the ads without risk for your system.

What makes Fasst “Virus” different from a real computer virus?

Facing an unstoppable flow of pop-ups, banners, new tabs and ads of various kinds could be quite unpleasant and shocking experience. Most of the users normally panic in such situation and the first thing that crosses their mind is a virus attack. This is very normal because, the way the Adware operates could, indeed, be very aggressive. However, there is no real need for panic because this type of software does NOT have the malicious intentions, or the harmful abilities of a Ransomware or a Trojan horse infection, for example. The purpose of the Adware is to advertise, not to steal your passwords or encrypt your data, therefore, the security experts do not consider it as a real threat to your system’s safety, but rather as a potentially unwanted piece of software, which may eventually cause you some unpleasant disturbance.

In their nature, programs like Fasst have no features, which bring them close to any known computer threat. Most viruses aim to cause some damage, fraud or theft, while Fasst “Virus” and the programs of its kind are only interested in promoting certain sponsored commercial messages on your screen and making you click on them. This way, the developers of the Adware can gain Pay-Per-Click revenue for their advertising service, while the businesses, whose products and services get displayed on your monitor, can gain exposure, traffic, and clicks. So far, there is no law,  which forbids this type of direct online advertising, that’s why, generally, programs like Fasst “Virus” are seen as legitimate. Viruses such as Spyware, Trojans or Ransomware, on the other hand, are illegal tools for cybercrimes and the people, who stand behind them are cyber criminals.

Why would you want to uninstall Fasst “Virus” if not malicious?

The interruption, which the Adware causes with its constantly popping ads, is the main reason why most of the people prefer to uninstall this software from their computers. Fasst, for instance, may typically integrate with your default browser and force it to generate potentially unwanted or irrelevant commercial messages when you least need it. Some Adware applications may also run background data collection services, which may keep a track on the users’ browsing history and recent web activities, and then transmit this data to third parties. Normally, there are online marketing agencies behind this data collection service, which are interested in knowing more about the users’ needs, likes and preferences. Based on the collected data, they try to create and display ads, which are more appealing and match the users’ searches. However, some people may consider this activity a good reason to uninstall the Adware and stop third parties from collecting and analyzing their browsing data.
