The Feed Chunk App Virus on Mac
Programs like Feed Chunk App for Mac are designed to serve the online marketing industry – they are tools that deliver advertisements directly to the screen of web users or page-redirect their web searches to specific sponsored websites. The Feed Chunk App Virus could potentially expose you to web ads that may contain viruses, it is important to mention that the browser hijackers are not identical to viruses. The Feed Chunk App Virus doesn’t have the malicious abilities of threats such as Trojans and surely cannot encrypt your files like Ransomware even if you have them on your machine.
This is possible thanks to a strategy known as Pay-Per-Click, where every click counts and brings income. Naturally, the developers seek ways to maximize their Pay-Per-Click revenue by increasing the chances of the users clicking on the intrusive ads their software displays. This happens through various methods: for instance, they set programs like Feed Chunk App to constantly cover your screen with sponsored banners which are hard to navigate past since they are typically located on top of the page buttons. Or, they install a new search engine or a homepage that is programmed to redirect you to predefined revenue-generating pages the very moment you open your web browser.
From a legal point of view, there is no problem with such methods since they are only used to promote advertising content and are not intended to harm your computer in any way. However, clicking on such pop-up notifications, banners, and sponsored advertisements that Feed Chunk App may display on your screen is not a good idea. The reason is that you can never be sure where those adverts may redirect you to. Moreover, nowadays, there are many misleading and malicious web ads that, once clicked on, may land you a virus as nasty as a Ransomware or a Trojan Horse.
