This page aims to help you remove GEUNFY “Virus”. These GEUNFY “Virus” removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

The main topic of the article you are about to read on this page is GEUNFY.exe – a type of software that, once installed on your PC, makes your browsers (Chrome, Firefox, etc.) display a large number of online ads in different sizes, shapes and colors: pop-ups, boxes, banners, tabs. You will find more important details about this program and how to successfully fight it in the paragraphs below.

Nature and purpose of GEUNFY “Virus”

Experts identify GEUNFY.exe as an Adware-type product. Basically, this means that the aforementioned explanation of its typical effects on your machine could also apply to all other versions of Adware. The purpose of all such programs is the display of as many online advertisements as it possibly can. This aim could be explained by the fact that the developers who produce and spread GEUNFY and other types of ad-generating software make substantial revenue out of the shown ads. Every single one counts and adds up to the total amount of the Adware developers’ earnings. If you are not sure whether such ad campaigns do or do not contradict any laws, the answer is that they are all legitimate and practically harmless to you and your online safety. In fact, GEUNFY is NOT a malicious piece of software as it cannot do anything wrong to your device, as opposed to actual viruses. Neither encryption of any data, its destruction or corruption, nor blackmailing and harassment could come as a result of this program’s influence on your computer. Indeed, you have no reason to worry about it too much. However, we still recommend that you be careful, because GEUNFY.exe may nevertheless have some shady effects on your PC, like reviewing your daily surfing history and promoting only the kind of products you have recently been searching for. Another questionable moment of the infection with this Adware might be pop-ups that could redirect you to potentially infected web addresses.

How to stay away from software like GEUNFY

Infections with Adware may not be dangerous, but they could indeed be extremely disturbing and a little intrusive. It is normal if you want to avoid them as much as possible in the future. Here we have assembled a set of prevention tips to help you with this serious task:

  • It is important that you have an anti-virus tool you can rely on. It is always better to pay a little more for a top-quality program, than to suffer from the vulnerabilities of one that is not that sophisticated.
  • Maybe you will want to turn on your pop-up blockers on all of your browsers. However, you need to know that they won’t save you from the Adware-generated pop-ups and banners. Such blockers will only prevent the website-generated ones.
  • It is essential to have a working Firewall. This is a general tip to help you prevent all kinds of contaminations, even with super dangerous viruses like Ransomware and Trojans.
  • Adware is spread mainly via program bundles. Despite that, the bundles are not the real issue; the issue is how you will install such a mixture of free software. Usually such sets of programs are distributed for free and contain ad-displaying software, original games and programs, and you might be very excited about using some of them, so that you might think about selecting the quickest or simplest way of installing such a bundle. Such options are the Default or the Automatic one. However, they are the worst possible decision you can make, because thanks to them your PC will end up contaminated with all that has been inside this particular bundle. If you need only some of the content of a bundle, not all of it, you should choose the detailed installation option: the Advanced or Custom one. By doing so, you in fact ensure the health and good condition of your system. This is probably the most important tip included in this list here.
  • You have to be especially careful when it comes to your browsing activities – if you learn to avoid anything shady-appearing on the web, you will probably be 90% safe from all cyber threats.
