In both scenarios, the victim is required to pay a ransom if they want to regain access to their PC or personal data. It is extremely important that everyone is well-informed regarding this type of malware. In the following few paragraphs, we will attempt to help our readers obtain a better understanding of how these viruses work and how one can keep their computer and files safe from them. As of late, a another addition to the Ransomware virus family has been developed. The new piece of malware is called .Happydayzz Virus and it will be the main focus of the current article. However, we must inform you that there are no guarantees regarding the effectiveness of the methods provided within the guide. Ransomware viruses are one of the most advanced types of malware and so far there has not been a universally effective method for handling them. Still, we believe that making use of our removal instructions is a much safer and more sensible course of action compared to opting for the ransom payment. Therefore, we recommend that you to complete our guide before you try anything else.
Types of Ransomware
As we hinted at the start of this article, there are two main types of Ransomware viruses – ones that lock the whole PC and ones that encrypt the personal user files one by one, rendering them inaccessible. Ransomware viruses that lock the computer are usually less advanced and easier to deal with. They usually use a big banner that covers everything on the screen and thus makes the user unable to do anything on their PC.
The second type of Ransomware is the one that locks the personal files of the user one by one. These viruses are more advanced and more problematic and a lot of that has to do with the method that they use to render the documents inaccessible. As we mentioned above, the method of encryption is used to lock the files. There are a couple of problems with that. First of all, most security programs are not able to spot a Ransomware encryption. The reason for that is because encryption is actually a non-malicious process and even though it is run by Ransomware, it is still not seen as a threat by most antiviruses. Secondly, Ransomware encryption is usually very advanced and sophisticated – busting the code is oftentimes next to impossible or at least, extremely difficult. Unfortunately, .Happydayzz Virus , the virus you are probably dealing with at this moment, too, falls under this category of Ransomware that is also known as crypto-viruses.
Another major issue with Ransomware viruses in general is the fact that they usually do not show any symptoms and even if they do, noticing the signs of the infection can be really difficult. Still, we ought to give you a general idea about what to be on the lookout for if you are to spot a Ransomware attack before it is too late.
- Increased CPU and RAM consumption is something that can be expected with most malware types including Ransomware. Therefore, if you think that your machine is using more system resources that it should normally do, you might be dealing with some kind of a virus, maybe Ransomware.
- A very typical sign of a cryptovirus infection is if your PC has less free hard-drive space than it normally does. This is caused by the encryption process and if you notice it, we advise you to quickly shut down your machine and take it to an IT professional.
- Sometimes, viruses can cause the system to become unstable and experience errors, freezes, crashes, etc. Of course, there are many other possible reasons for such issues that are not related to any form of malware infection but it is still a potential symptom of a Ransomware attack.
PC protection tips
Before we finish our article, we must give you several very important pieces of advice that will help you keep your PC safe and protected against any potential Ransomware attacks in the future.
