Generally, as we’ve just said in the first paragraph, Hicpm10.com is not considered to be a virus and, therefore, it cannot be expected to cause problems in your system. After the installation of the program on your computer, however, you may notice that your browser behaves strangely and that you constantly see annoying pop-up ads or banners on your screen, which are aggressive and won’t go away unless you click on them. This is a common disturbance, caused by the attempts of the hijacker to expose you to sponsored content which it’s trying to promote. The redirecting activity of the hijacker is usually considered to be potentially dangerous as it may unknowingly expose you to illegal or insecure websites, which could be used as transmitters of Ransomware, Trojans and other computer threats.
How did Hicpm10.com hijack your computer without your permission?
If Hicpm10.com has been added to your browser, but you do not remember doing it, it may have been installed alongside some other program you’ve recently installed on your computer. This software distribution technique is called “bundling” and many potentially unwanted programs are distributed in this way. To prevent the installation of unwanted programs or the insertion of unwanted browser add-ons to your browser, we advise you to use Detailed or Manual installation option when you install new software on your computer. These options usually reveal a list of recommended downloads that usually get installed by default with the selected program unless you manually disable them. Fortunately, all you need to do to prevent them is to simply uncheck their checkmarks from the menu.
