Ads by Lucky Services Overview
Dear reader, this article is dedicated to the removal of the malware virus Ads by Lucky Services. Please check out the whole article carefully, because it will not only teach you how to get rid of this pest, but also to help you avoid future exposures.
Ads by Lucky Services, like many others, is an advertisement based malware. When it infects your PC it begins creating unwanted pages with fake advertisements or pop-ups. Once installed its very hard to remove unless specific procedure is followed – otherwise it will enable itself and reproduce until properly removed.
Do not interact with any content generated by Ads by Lucky Services. Kill any page generated by the virus with the Task Manager.
- These ads will usually try to install more malware on your PC or steal your personal data. Sometimes they might even try to trick you into buying an anti-virus app to remove themselves. All of this is a scam, but as long as you avoid further interactions with the virus you should be safe.
- One should know that viruses like Ads by Lucky Services DO NOT have the power to hurt your PC, unless you allow them to. Therefore they employ misdirection and try to have you give them access. For this reason its best to simply ignore them (and shut them down), because sometimes even the “close” button is rigged.
- In addition to creating adds, this virus and its buddies collect info about your browsing behavior and passwords, which is then forwarded to their maker. Usually this happens after a week or so after infection, so removing the virus as soon as you are able to is extra important.
Ads created by Ads by Lucky Services are not actual ads hosted on the internet, but fakes generated by the virus via the CPU of your machine and tailored to your browsing history. They are displayed in a layer that overlaps over your browser. All of this is likely to cause slowdown or choppiness, more prominent on older and slower CPUs.
How to avoid Ads by Lucky Services and similar malware.
Currently there are two very popular ways of spreading malware around the internet – through other programs or through posing as a file.
- “Shell” programs are malware viruses uploaded on fraudulent download sites. These sites clone your search query and present the virus through the search engine as a perfect match. They will always be .exe files regardless of the extension of the file you are searching for.
“Canned” programs come as a part of a bundle with another program – usually a free one. The main software might be fully legitimate, but bundled with the malware if its not downloaded from the official site. They rely on the user to install them along with the program he wants.
