How Works is a virus webpage falling under the adware category. It’s not difficult to remove, and it’s not very dangerous on its own, but it nevertheless poses a threat for its incessant  pop-ups and banners that chase you no matter what pages you browse; apart from infecting the browsers, occasionally you may also receive pop-ups on your desktop, prompting you to update Java or FlashPlayer. These are obvious fakes – you can discern them by hovering over the pop-up, if the “X” highlights as a part of the page, then it’s a whole picture. It leads to another virus most likely, which is the biggest problem with adware. You can never trust that what you’re seeing is what you’re getting.

How Entered My Computer

While there are reports that the page is spammed even through platforms like Steam or Spotify, these are not the originators, they are not even the ones displaying the ads. being displayed there is just a symptom of a smartly build adware. The problem is purely based in your system’s heart, which the virus has managed to pierce.

How, though, is the question? There are at least three known ways adware use: spam email, corrupted links, and free programs. The first two are pretty much self-explanatory. The last one, on the other hand, I should elaborate on. Whenever users go and visit a website that offers free applications and services, there is a degree of danger anything they download from there may cause your PC to be infected. is just one of a variety of viruses on such pages. Freeware providers are quite notorious for this. Again, there are options here, but just two this time:

  • Whoever creates these things also owns these freeware providers.
  • Whoever creates them pays the providers to include the malware in their bundles.

Now I won’t name anyone, but at some point you need to realize that anyone who creates a platform to distribute free programs has to make money somehow. So they have to do it either through other means, or through a combination of advertisements and sponsorship.

When you install a free program, always choose Custom Installation or if there’s a drop-down menu, check which elements will be installed. If you see a name like or something about a bonus content, run straight away, cancel the setup and maybe download a similar tool from somewhere else. The setup may also ask you in between installation steps, so it falls on you to be vigilant and not let your guard down.
