SalePlus Ads Overview
BEWARE! READ THIS PART BEFORE DOING ANYTHING ELSE! Users affected by a virus of SalePlus Ads’s type always start seeing messages about missing plugins and updates on legitimate software. Sometimes you can even get the occasional “there is malware detected on this PC” message. Every single one of these I described is a fake, created by the virus to manipulate you into letting it install something. But when you do allow it access it will not setup what it promised, but rather another of its kind. My recommendation is to ignore everything until you’ve deleted SalePlus Ads.
- Sale Plus Ads is probably the most prominent and widespread adware that surfaced in 2015. Deleting it fast is extremely important, although its removal is not strictly very difficult. The main reason for this is because the longer it stays, the more problematic it becomes, since it serves as a backdoor for more dangerous malware.
- A persistent effect associated with SalePlus Ads is a slowdown of the CPU. But don’t worry, by “persistent” I do not mean it will remain once you’re rid of the virus. Rather I mean that this effect will be persistently felt by all systems, old and new, and on all versions of windows. The advertisements that appear are not a part of the pages, but are generated by SalePlus Ads, and the heavy duty of creating these falls on your system, hence the increase in loading time.
- Do not click on the advertisements, even if they seem useful or interesting. Many of them redirect you to differing websites with no relation ot the product you were viewing. Such websites are extremely dangerous and risky, because the concentration of malware on them is significantly higher than on a normal websites. We advise you to exit such websites as soon as you are rerouted to them.
How To Avoid SalePlus Ads (And Other Malware)
OK, here’s the deal: most adware come with another program’s installation file. Exceptions are the rare cases when people open spam email attachments that happen yo be infected, or simply navigate through an infected website. But most of the time, free programs are to blame. So now that you know this, the only other relevant thing is how to stay alert and spot malware before they successfully invade you. SalePlus Ads is definitely not an exception to this rule. So basically what you need to do is read the text at the beginning of the setup, because programs are obligated to inform you (albeit offhandedly) that you will be receiving third-party advertising. Here is an example:
If you see this text, my recommendation is to immediately access the task bar (CTRL+ALT+DEL) and stop the process. My experience with these things is that even if you click Exit, there’s a good chance the virus will install itself anyway.
