Itabsolan is browser-targeting software that is aimed at actively promoting sponsored content in the system’s default web browser. To display more web ads and promotional inks, Itabsolan typically updates the homepage URL and introduces a new browser search engine that automatically redirects to specific websites.

The virus on Chrome

Security experts classify this program as a browser hijacker and offer instructions on how to remove it from popular web browsers like Chrome, Edge, Firefox and other browsing apps that may potentially get affected. The good news is that you can easily detect Itabsolan as soon as it starts to operate because it doesn’t hide in the system like viruses and stealthy malware infections such as Trojan horses or Ransomware. The first symptoms that you may notice may be linked to a change in the browser’s default search engine, as well as a replacement of the homepage address with a different one which automatically loads a specific webpage. Other common symptoms may be the unstoppable generation of pop-up ads, banners, redirect links, on-screen notifications and offers during your web browsing sessions and your inability to remove them no matter what you do. Fortunately, none of these symptoms indicates malicious activity or system damage, therefore, there is no need to panic. If you want to surf the web in peace, however, it may be a good idea to uninstall the program that is behind them, which, in your case is Itabsolan.

If not eliminated in time, this browser hijacker may quickly become a source of intolerable web disturbance. For instance, it may redirect users to pre-determined pages and also start filling the monitor with obstructive pop-up notifications, click-prompts, and disturbing full-screen banners. It is important to mention, however, that there is a major difference between a browser hijacker representative and more serious malware, such as a Trojan horse virus, spyware, a worm, or ransomware. The most significant one is the purpose of these pieces of software. The major purpose of most browser hijacking apps, such as Itabsolan and Fastcaptchasolver, is to make money from clicks on paid ads and site redirects. That is why they don’t have to cause real computer harm in order to achieve their aims. In fact, certain less violent browser hijackers might come close to standard browser add-ons and even provide the user with semi-helpful functions and free features that may try to compensate for their otherwise disturbing actions. A real Trojan virus, a Ransomware or a spyware infection, on the other had is malicious software that has been created to benefit its developers by causing harm to the computer, exploiting its resources, and stealing its information. That’s why such malicious software should immediately be removed from the system in order to prevent serious damage.

The thing is that web users commonly confuse the browser hijackers for viruses due to their aggressive advertising behavior and tend to panic when they see the stream of ads and the unauthorized search engine and homepage changes inside their web browser. What adds to the frustration is the fact that in certain instances, a hijacker may funnel users to dubious websites, and questionable web offers which could potentially be infected with malware. Therefore, if Itabsolan does not provide you with significantly helpful features, it is best to uninstall it from your computer. In the following paragraphs, you will find useful guidance about how to do this at home and all by yourself.
