How irritating is this virus?

This page aims to help you remove the Jollywallet “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

Adware has the fame of one of the most irritating and unwanted types of software that you can come across. This software usually takes over your browser (it doesn’t matter if you are using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox, Explorer or some other browsing program) and makes it generate a constant flow of different pop-ups, ads, banners, promotions and blinking boxes. Its activity is generally far from the harm that a real computer virus or a threat from the Ransomware-Trojan family can cause, but still, it can be incredibly annoying and can seriously disturb the normal users’ browsing. One such program named Jollywallet “Virus” has recently been reported to cause ad-related irritation and disturbance and in this article, our team will focus its attention on its specifics. If you are struggling with the ads, generated by Jollywallet “Virus”, then on this page you are going to find a detailed removal guide on how to uninstall this nagging piece of software without any risk to your system and how to effectively remove all of its pop-ups from your screen.

What is Jollywallet “Virus” – a security threat or mere irritation?

It can surely be quite a nuisance, but as we said above, this type of software, fortunately, has nothing to do with the dangerous threats, which are capable of corrupting your system. But many people refer to Jollywallet “Virus” as a virus, you may say. Could it be some nasty threat or a well-camouflaged Trojan or Ransomware infection? Definitely, no. Confusing the adware activity with that of a virus is a common mistake that many people make when they are not aware of the nature of this type of software. No adware has ever been recognized as malicious, moreover, according to security experts, this software is perfectly legal and has a specific advertising oriented function, which serves the needs of the online marketing industry. This means, that programs like this one are basically developed and used as tools for online advertising and are not interested in harming your PC. Of course, we cannot say that the methods they use to advertise and display various intrusive messages right onto the users’ screens cannot be problematic and cannot cause a disturbance, but still, they definitely don’t have the malicious consequences of a real virus infection.

What issues may Jollywallet “Virus” cause?

If you currently have Jollywallet “Virus” on your PC, you probably know from your own experience how aggressive the activity of this adware can be. A very common and frustrating issue that many users face with this program is the unstoppable generation of ads, pop-ups and different banners, which cover up their entire screen, interrupt their web browsing and even redirect them to some shady and unknown web locations if they happen to click on them accidentally. On top of that, the adware may have a significant effect on the performance of the affected browser, cause it to crash or freeze suddenly, or become unresponsive to your searches, while being busy with the generation of the intrusive ads. Another thing you may find a bit disturbing is the ability of the adware to gather some data from your browser and analyze it. As part of its aggressive marketing strategies, such software can usually have access to your browsing history, your recent search queries or bookmarks and keep track of your latest visited pages. Unfortunately, you as a user may not have control over this privacy violation and may not be able to remove the data tracking activity unless you fully uninstall the adware.

How to protect your system from getting filled with nagging ad-generating programs like Jollywallet “Virus”?

To keep adware away from your PC, the best way is to avoid its most common sources. Such sources are usually different software bundles, which contain some attractive program, a new application, a game or some free version of paid software as a main, and some bundled ad-generating software like Jollywallet “Virus” in addition. If you download an installer, which you suspect may contain adware, it is best if you check it through the “Advanced/Custom” option the moment you run it. This will allow you to customize and disable any additional program, which may be included in the setup and will get installed automatically if you don’t remove them manually from the bundle. Also, stick to safe and trusted software sources and don’t click on spam, different promotional emails and offers, which prompt you to download something that you are not sure about. Being cautious and sensible can really make a difference and prevent even nastier threats from invading your system.
