If you are incapable of accessing most, or all of the files in your computer and if every time you try to open any of the locked pieces of data you get a ransom-demanding banner shown on your screen, then you surely have a Ransomware data-encryption virus in your system. On our site, we have written articles about many different Ransomware versions, and the current post will be focusing on a Ransomware named Kovasoh. It is a rand new piece of malware from the Ransomware family and it is likely that many users are reading the current text exactly because their systems have recently been invaded by the nefarious program. If that’s the case with you and your computer, then you are probably asking yourself whether or not you should make the demanded ransom payment, because, after all, the hackers behind Kovasoh have more than likely told you that if you pay them, they will send you a unique decryption key which corresponds to the encryption placed on your files. To many, the payment of the ransom may seem like a necessary evil – some money will be lost but at least the access to the locked data would get restored, right? Well, in many cases, this may not really be the end result. Paying the money isn’t a guaranteed way of restoring the files, and while many Ransomware hackers may keep their promises, there are always those who don’t, and if you happen to pay the ransom to such a hacker, you’d simply waste your money without regaining access to the encrypted files.
