This page aims to help you remove Loptr Virus for free. Our instructions also cover how any Loptr Virus file can be recovered.

Ransomware threats are becoming more and more advanced with each passing day. One of the latest and most problematic cryptoviruses of this type is Loptr Virus. It has recently been detected and reported as malware with very tricky and sophisticated file encryption abilities. Once this threat gets inside your computer, it secretly encrypts all of the users’ files found there and makes them inaccessible without a special decryption key. This is part of a very nasty online blackmail scheme, which asks the victims to pay ransom if they want to unlock their files and be able to use them again. If Loptr Virus has attacked your PC, there are only a few options you can choose from to deal with this Ransomware, and paying the ransom is definitely the worst one. What are the other options then? Let’s find out!

If Loptr Virus is on your computer…

Just like any other malware, Loptr Virus uses a bunch of tricky distribution methods to infect online users. You can find this type of threats in different web locations such as torrent sites, pirate content, freeware or shareware platforms, spam messages, fake ads and misleading links or compromised web pages. In most of the cases, the users just get tricked into clicking on a seemingly harmless file, which is, in fact, a well-camouflaged Trojan horse, that delivers the infection. Unfortunately, at the moment of contamination and even during the malicious encryption itself, there are not many visible symptoms that may indicate that you have been infected with Ransomware. Most antivirus software may also fail to identify the threat because the malicious encryption that Loptr Virus uses can easily be mistaken for a normal non-malicious encryption. If you are very observant, sometimes high CPU and RAM usage may indicate the unusual encryption activity and if you detect something like this in your Task manager, then this may be a sign of Ransomware operating on your PC. However, Loptr Virus usually proceeds silently to the encryption of your files, and only after it has finished, it reveals itself with a ransom message.

What to do if you don’t want to pay the ransom and still want to save your files?

If you doubt that paying the ransom will really get your files back, you are right. There is absolutely no guarantee that if you give your money to the hackers, they will send you the decryption key and everything will be back to normal. After all, these are criminals, who are blackmailing you and it doesn’t make any sense for them to send you anything, once they have the money. If you are looking for a way to deal with the infection, removing Loptr Virus may be the less risky and more reasonable option. Cleaning your system will eliminate a very nasty threat from your computer. The guide that you can find below contains several methods, which can help you remove the Ransomware. It can also offer you a few file restoration steps, which may be able to recover some of your encrypted data. How successfully they will work, however, depends on your specific case and we can’t guarantee how much of your data you will be able to save. Unfortunately, this is one of the negative effects of Ransomware – the recovery from such an attack may not be full, even after you remove the threat. But still, it is worth to try everything possible instead of risking your money for a ransom payment, where you can’t be sure whether you will be getting a decryption key or not.

Protection tips:

There are several ways to provide effective protection to your PC when it comes to Ransomware threats. The first and the most important one is the safety of your system. Don’t neglect the regular security updates and patches, because they can improve your security and block the access of different malicious scripts to your machine. Also, protect your PC with reputed antivirus software. Make sure you regularly update its virus definitions so that it can detect the latest online threats like Loptr Virus and run regular scans. Shady installers, intrusive ads and messages, spam and different suspicious attachments are never safe to interact with. Don’t seek for trouble on your own and avoid insecure web locations, or sketchy content and sites. Trojans, different viruses and Ransomware may always hide there and sometimes, one wrong click may be the difference between having your system infected or remaining safe.
