Malware.Heuristic.1001

Malware.Heuristic.1001 belongs to the class of Trojan horse viruses and can infect most operating systems. As a typical Trojan horse virus, Malware.Heuristic.1001 is very stealthy and difficult to detect.

But if you were lucky enough to locate this malicious piece on your machine, then you should try and not delay its removal. Viruses of the Trojan horse type like Energy.exeBloom.exe, are notorious for their ability to cause very serious damage to people and their computers. And what is remarkable about them is that they are highly versatile in the way that they can cause this damage.

In fact, this quality is to a greater extent what has contributed to Trojans becoming the most widespread malware category on the internet. They can make up for over 3 in every 4 malware attacks, and that’s saying something. Of course, their unique stealth and ability to disguise themselves as legitimate system components also played a part in Trojans becoming a favorite tool for hackers and cybercriminals. But the fact that they can be programmed to accomplish a very wide range of different malicious tasks is certainly the most valuable trait.

This brings us to say that because Malware.Heuristic.1001 is such a new variant, we cannot pinpoint at this point what exact purpose it is designed to serve. Instead, we can offer you a shortlist of some of the most popular usages so you at least have some idea of what this virus may be capable of. And after you’ve finished reading the information provided within this brief article, we would encourage you to make use of the manual removal guide we’ve included below. It is written in step-by-step format and should be fairly comprehensive, but keep in mind that dealing with the removal of such threats may involve dealing with system files, as well. And as we well know, those are vital for the proper functioning of your PC, so be sure to follow the instructions very closely so as to avoid accidentally deleting the wrong file.

The possible usages of Malware.Heuristic.1001

Now, as pointed out, we cannot say for sure what exactly Malware.Heuristic.1001 has been up to in your system. But we are well aware of what the vast majority of Trojans are used for, so we can use that to speculate what might be the case with Malware.Heuristic.1001.

Namely, malicious software pieces of this group are generally used to obtain sensitive or private information from the computers of their victims. This can be achieved by tapping into your mic and/or webcam, recording your keystrokes, monitoring your web traffic, etc. And hence the cybercriminals behind the virus can gain access to things like your online banking details, emails, passwords, social media login credentials, personal details, etc.

Another usage that has gained a lot of popularity in recent years and just seems to be gaining momentum is remote cryptocurrency mining. Basically, the Trojan ‘enslaves’ your computer, making it mine cryptocurrencies for the hackers. But your machine’s resources could be exploited for other things as well, such as sending out spam, for example.
