This page aims to help you remove MPC AdCleaner. These MPC AdCleaner uninstall instructions work for every version of Windows.

MPC AdCleaner is a potential rogue Windows program – in other words, a kind of imposter-software that claims to be something it isn’t. In order to make its way into your computer, it requires the help of a native program (e.g. MPC Cleaner). Native programs are called that in relation to the system, and basically are just programs that require minimal support from it in terms of computational overhead and additional components.  So, first off, this native program in question needs to be installed onto your PC. It will then go ahead and do all it needs to do, in order to successfully ‘invite’ MPC AdCleaner to join the party.

This would typically be achieved, when MPC Cleaner (or other native program) gets installed on your computer and together with it an additional software product appears as if out of nowhere. That additional program would be MPC AdCleaner.

You may notice that everything about your browser, whether you’re using Chrome, Mozilla or Internet Explorer, might have been changed. Your homepage and start-up page may be different, the default tab page may also be changed and your new search engine may be search.mpc.am. This is all a potential result of MPC AdCleaner’s presence on your hard drive.

Other symptoms may include, but aren’t necessarily limited to a multitude of ads appearing in your browser; you might be re-directed to the new search page that’s now been introduced to your browser, or to a sponsored webpage. Perhaps your computer might be working at a slower pace than usual and general performance might be slacking. Another possible and very annoying sign could be the fact that there are programs constantly being downloaded to your computer of which you had no prior knowledge of.

What now?

Well, this program will most likely be set apart from most software and programs you may have come in contact with. If you check your system for an uninstall executable for MPC AdCleaner (.exe), you’ll soon discover there isn’t one. And you won’t find one for the native program mentioned above either, not in the Control Panel at least. The native program can be removed from its main folder, however, this won’t rid you of MPC AdCleaner’s presence. That would be the purpose of this guide, which will provide you below with all the necessary instructions as to how to deal with this little nuisance that is MPC AdCleaner.

As for now, though, it is our strong belief that preventing a problem from occurring is far more time- and energy-efficient, than having to deal with it face-to-face and all the messy consequences that tend to follow. For this precise reason, it is important that you are informed of the way MPC AdCleaner is distributed. After all, forewarned is forearmed.

How to stop this from getting into my computer again?

In most cases the software is bundled in with another program, which you would download, possibly, from some very untrustworthy source, such as an open-source download site, torrent page or similar. Does this sound familiar? Sometimes, it might not even require you to go out of your way to download something of your choice. This particular program could even be a leftover of some malicious software that had been on the computer previously. In other words, it could have even come bundled together with a virus; not necessarily a legitimate program you would want.

Another sneaky and dirty tactic developers use in the name of tricking you into downloading the program is disguising it as an update. Some even delve into the opposite extreme and try to get you to download it directly, falsely promoting it as an improvement to your browsing experience and an extension that will somehow benefit you.

Conclusion

Luckily for us – regardless of how this annoying software came to be on our PC, the removal methods stay pretty much always the same. You will scroll down to those in just a bit. We would like to briefly just put some simple-to-follow tips together, so you can ensure a more risk-free browsing experience for yourself:

  • At all times have a working antivirus on your computer and run virus checks regularly;
  • Avoid visiting, exploring and by all means downloading content from suspicious websites;
  • If you must download a program of some sort, be very cautious about the source and then the installation settings of the program.

  • Hi,
    I have had trouble with MPC before and gotten rid of it months ago, but it recently has been showing up in my browser again. I have no other IP addresses and I can’t find anything in my computer at all relating to it. Is there a way to get it off my browser?

    • Can you send us a screenshot from your Registry Editor (the folders mentioned in the guide) and another screenshot from the list of installed programs on your PC (from the Control Panel)?
