Such programs are widely spread and commonly disturb many users worldwide with their undesired ads, banners, and popping boxes. But if you are not really sure what exactly an Browser Hijacker program may do and how to stay away from its ads, you will probably find the information below quite useful. At the end of the article, you will also find a detailed removal guide that will help you successfully uninstall the undesired application and save yourself from the ads. Or in other words – “eliminar mytrustsearch”.

mytrustsearch virus

Let’s begin with a few words about Browser Hijackers:

Software that is known to display ads of various types on the user’s screen is commonly categorized as Browser Hijacker and is one such application. This is usually a browser add-on that is specially developed to generate all sorts of advertising messages – popping boxes, banners, links, promotional pages, pop-ups, pop-downs, side notifications etc. These ads appear every time you open your browser and try to surf the web. Usually, Browser Hijacker may apply some undesired settings, for example, change your homepage, introduce a new search engine and make it the default one, or redirect your searches to other unknown websites and promotional landing pages. This behavior may cause some serious irritation and disturbance to users and interrupt their normal browsing habits; therefore, many of them would rather uninstall the Browser Hijacker from their system and bring their browser to normal.

How got in your system in the first place?

Browser Hijacker applications are widely distributed through links and spam emails but the most common method is through software bundles. This means that such programs usually come along with another program that users willingly download from the web and install. Software developers are stimulated to create Browser Hijacker because they earn some money on every click the displayed ads can get and this allows them to cover their costs and release some applications for free. That’s why it is very common that free software may come along with Browser Hijacker packed in the installation. If you recall some recent program that you willingly installed, this is probably how you ended up with the Browser Hijacker. In order to prevent this from happening in future, we advise you to always install new software through the advanced/custom options. There you can manually unselect any added installs, which you don’t want to get on your system. “Virus”, right?

Well, not exactly right, actually. Many people mistakenly believe is a “virus”. Let us assure us it is not. The undesired and very intrusive behavior of may often be mistaken for malicious infection. However, there is no reason to panic. Even though programs like these may seem dangerous at first sight, they have nothing in common with viruses , like Ransomware or Trojans for example. Opposite to malware, Browser Hijacker is not made to do any harm to your machine. Its main activity is related to the ad-displaying function and despite that sometimes it may be quite aggressive, still it cannot cause any major harm to your files or your system like the Ransomware encryption or a nasty virus can do.

As a legal piece of software, itself cannot perform malicious actions; however, it is still advisable to consider removing the Browser Hijacker. The reason there is are certain risks if you happen to interact with some of the generated ads, which may hide potential harm. For example, if you happen to click on an ad, it may redirect you to a page with malicious payload without your notice. In case you land on such a page, you may get some real bad infection like a cryptovirus, spyware, ransomware or a Trojan Horse. Of course, this doesn’t mean that all the ads you see are going to lead you to malicious locations. Most of the ads are real and do not contain security risks. However, as rarely as it may happen, this is still a possible way for malware to infect you.

How to handle the situation if you have on your PC?

Having installed on your PC, you have most probably experienced some of the above described annoying activities and eagerly looking on how to stop them and clean your system. Now, you have probably noticed that there is no “stop” button that will quickly disable the Browser Hijacker. Therefore, you will need to juggle the panel a bit more in order to find and completely delete all related files. Do not worry because in the removal guide below we are going to show you exactly how to do that. In case you are not confident enough to interact with system files, you may also clean your system with the removal tool. It will do the same job in just a few clicks. Now it is high time we tell you how to “eliminar mytrustsearch”.
