Threats like O97m/dplink.a may significantly differ in their purposes and ways of operation. You could never be sure what exactly such malware could cause and what its criminal intentions could be unless you experience them first hand. Sadly, for this particular reason, you may not be able detect and remove them on time and may have to deal with their dreadful consequences once they have completed their criminal tasks.
Some of the most common activities the Trojans could be programmed to perform may include data destruction, system corruption, theft of credentials and passwords as well as insertion of various other viruses inside the compromised computer. In case that O97m/dplink.a has installed its malicious scripts inside your PC, it may delete some files, make changes to your system settings, mess with your Registry entries, modify some of your software or provide the hackers who control it with complete remote access to your machine. Such a virus could also be set to secretly transfer some of your information to the servers of the criminals and thus provide them with sensitive data about you, your personal or professional life, your login credentials, banking details and other similar important and valuable information which could easily be exploited. On top of that, O97m/dplink.a may create vulnerabilities on your PC which could cause serious issues with the performance, crashes, errors and malfunctions, as well as security holes in the system’s protection thus enabling other viruses such as Trojans to sneak inside your machine.
