The focus of the article below is a program named .Oblivion Rasnomware. This is a version of the notorious Ransomware virus group – a kind of malware that is capable of causing file encryption or screen lockdown. Below, we have mentioned all the facts you need to be aware of if you have become a victim of Ransomware or if you simply are interested in all kinds of cyber threats. Moreover, there is a Removal Guide attached below to help all those who are suffering from the effects of .Oblivion. Hopefully, everything will turn out in a positive way for you!

.Oblivion Ransomware

Ransomware as a category:

Ransomware comprises all the malicious programs that are able to lock something on your personal computer or portable devices. Normally – it is either the screen/ desktop, or some file formats stored in the PC.

The process of file encryption happens as the malware copies all previously targeted files with the new copies being locked by the encryption. Afterwards, the originals get deleted so the only data left is the one that has been copied and is currently inaccessible. If you are wondering how the victims of .Oblivion find out they have been infected – it is quite simple. A huge pop-up gets displayed that contains all the details about the contamination and all the demands of the hackers. Usually, the ransom is wanted in a certain cryptocurrency because those are less likely to be traced back to the criminal that gets the money.

If the Ransomware is a screen-locked instead of a data-encryptor, the lock-up takes place in the following way – a very big notification blocks the affected monitor/ screen and prevents the victim user from accessing anything on the affected device. The ransom is again typically wanted in the form of a cryptocurrency, all the requirements of the cyber criminals are included in this alert message, as well as additional threats in some cases. If that’s the case – no data gets locked up, simply the screen/desktop gets blocked which is again very bothering. However, at least you will not lose any files in such a way and typically screen-lockers are easier to deal with.
