Onclkds Afu Virus – a cause of browsing disturbance for a lot of users!
Onclkds Afu Virus is a special piece of software from the browser hijacking type, that can take over your browser without your permission. Once it has been incorporated within your Chrome, Firefox, Explorer, or any other browser that you are using by default, it begins to implement its primary function – displaying sponsored search results alongside normal searches and redirecting the victim to third-party sites. You may also find that Onclkds Afu Virus has installed a default search engine or a home page which doesn’t want to be removed regardless of your efforts to uninstall it, and appears every time you open your browser. If this is what you have recently noticed, you definitely don’t need an expert to tell you something is wrong. But is the browser hijacker a threat for your system? Let’s find out.
Removing Onclkds Afu Virus is advisable if you want to prevent computer problems in the future.
Generally, keeping a browser hijacker on your system is not fatal and cannot corrupt or damage your software and data the way that a real virus (or some other tricky malware like Ransomware or Trojans) can. A piece like Onclkds Afu Virus, for instance, is basically used to promote related sites and make money for its owners through Pay-Per-Click. The search engine that it imposes fills the search results with sponsored links, ads, banners, and pop-ups, and expects people to click on them. Each click increases the traffic to certain sites that are aggressively advertised through the browser hijacker. The described activity is a pretty intrusive online advertising practice, which some vendors and marketers employ in order to make money form paid ads positioning. Unfortunately, these marketers are not really interested in the quality of advertising content the browser hijacker broadcasts, but are more after the quantity and the clicks they can get. That’s why, very often a number of ads, pop-ups, banners and sponsored pages the users’ get exposed to are really huge and can cause them serious browsing interruptions, disturbance, and irritation.

What is more, it is really hard to say how safe the content shared on these aggressively promoted sites is. Even if most of them are legitimate, there is always a risk for the users to unwillingly click on some randomly generated ad or link and get redirected to a website, compromised by some hackers, where different security hazards like viruses, Trojan horses or Ransomware may lurk. That’s why we strongly recommend not trusting the content that the browser hijacker generates on your screen, because most of the time it has not been checked for safety and has been displayed only for profit. So, if you don’t want to catch some nasty infections just from one wrong click, or be constantly bugged by intrusive promotional sites, it is better to remove Onclkds Afu Virus with the help of the removal instructions in the guide below.
How does the browser hijacker sneak into the computer?
According to most leading security experts, browser hijackers are potentially unwanted programs, designed to take control of the user’s web browsers and make them aggressively advertise certain sites and offers. The developers are looking for ways to integrate them into the system, using a legitimate method of software distribution known as bundling. This bundling method allows them to collect multiple software products in one package and thus, make the users install all programs without even noticing. Usually, almost all free programs on the web have several other related programs bundled in their setups. To customize a package, you need to use the detailed or manual option installation and deselect all additionally proposed items one after the other. After completing the customization, just follow the instructions provided to the installer until you reach the last step.
