How can adware get on your PC?

Unlike computer viruses or malicious threats like Ransomware and Trojans, which usually sneak inside your system without your permission, adware programs get installed there with your approval. You may not really be clearly notified about their presence, though, because they usually come bundled in a software setup as addition to some other attractive program that you install. Mostly, such bundles are distributed for free and can be found on different freeware or shareware sites, torrent platforms, direct download links from the web, free installers, automatic setups, spam email messages or attachments. The moment you download and run a given setup, it is not a good idea to rush and follow the standard/automatic installation steps, because if adware like PcHandller “Virus” has been bundled inside the setup, it will get installed on your system by default, along with the program you desire. To avoid that, it is highly recommended to read the EULA and install what is there by using the “Advanced/Custom” installation option. This way, you can have full control over the all the programs that the setup contains and can easily disable the ones you don’t want.

What actions may PcHandller “Virus” perform on your PC?

Typically, adware programs may flood your screen with ads and make you click on them. They may also prompt you to interact with specific sites by redirecting you to their pages or collect marketing information about the activities you perform on your browser while you surf the web. Such behavior may be regarded as invasive and a lot of users see no actual benefit from keeping software like PcHandller “Virus” on their system as the only thing they get is a nonstop browsing disturbance. The advertisers, who own the adware, however, can benefit a lot from the users’ clicks either by implementing Pay-Per-Click campaigns or by bringing traffic to certain sponsored web pages. That’s why they have all the interest to flood the users’screen and collect as many clicks as possible, but oftentimes, their strive for money makes them use the adware in a very aggressive manner.

Is PcHandller “Virus” dangerous?

Despite the browsing annoyance that PcHandller “Virus” may cause, according to leading security experts, such software is nowhere near malicious threats like Ransomware, Trojans or other harmful viruses. Its ad-generating component is not malicious on its own and usually does not relate to any destructive activity. In most of the cases, the adware is simply a source of unpleasant disturbance and does not affect the normal work of the computer. However, a good reason to uninstall it could be the possible irritation it may cause and the exposure to undesired (and sometimes unsafe) advertising content, which you may not really want to deal with.
