Play.nbryb Virus

Play.nbryb

Play.nbryb is a malware app responsible for unwanted changes in the browser and sudden page-redirects to different sites. Play.nbryb is recognized as a browser hijacker and it targets browsers for Windows computers such as Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, changing their toolbar and homepage settings.

The Play.nbryb virus

Another thing this app is known for doing is replacing the search engine of the targeted browser in order to help promote some sites through its own custom search engine that it adds to the browser. The new search engine might modify the results of the user’s searches in order to push the sites of its partners and drive more traffic to them. Another way of doing this is by changing the browser’s starting page to the homepage of one of those sites. This means that the user would automatically be boosting the traffic to this site by simply opening their browser, as that would result in a visit to the promoted site.

The Play.nbryb Virus

Another technique that hijackers like the Play.nbryb virus employ in order to draw more traffic to their partners’ sites is the so-called page redirects. Many hijackers like the Play.nbryb virus aggressively spam the user’s screen with redirect links disguised as interesting offers and ads and they also forcefully open new tabs or redirect the current one to the sites they are supposed to promote.

These activities, combined with the unwelcome changes in the browser are bound to make most users feel annoyed and frustrated, which, in and of itself, is enough reason for most people to consider uninstalling the hijacker.

There, however, is an even bigger reason why you may want to remove Play.nbryb or Privatemsg.site from your browser and computer and that is the increased risk of landing malicious threats like Trojans, Spyware, Worms, or Ransomware. Play.nbryb isn’t a harmful app by itself and its goal has nothing to do with causing damage to your computer or messing with your important files. However, since it always tries to get you redirected to as many of its partnering sites and get you to click on as many of its ads as possible, this greatly increases the risk of getting rerouted to a page that has hazardous contents. It might be a phishing page disguised as a legitimate site or some illegal web address that distributes pirated software that may carry Viruses, Ransomware, or Trojan horses. All things considered, the risk of keeping a hijacker on your PC is simply not worth it, especially considering the fact that the app itself is unlikely to improve your browsing experience in any meaningful way.

Removing Play.nbryb

There are different ways you can get rid of a hijacker like this one and below we will show you two of them: a removal guide with instructions on how to manually find the hijacker on your computer and remove it and a tested and reliable anti-malware tool that can automatically take care of this unwanted app for you. Our advice for you is to use either one of these removal options or both of them combined and uninstall the invasive hijacker at the earliest opportunity.
