This page aims to help you remove Prize Media You. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

Is there an effective way to stop your Chrome, Firefox or Explorer browser from redirecting your searches and flooding your screen with various annoying ads, pop-ups, and banners? Fortunately, yes, and if you stay with us till the end of this article, you are going to learn exactly how to do that. First, however, we have to explain to you what is the source of all the potentially unwanted disturbance. Usually, this is a piece of software, which can get installed on your default browsing app and to insert some ad-generating or page-redirecting scripts on it. Such piece of software is usually known as Browser hijacker because it typically can impose some changes to your browser’s homepage or search engine settings (aka hijack it) and to install some new toolbars, new-tab domains or add-ons without your approval. In the next lines, our team will stop our attention at one particular representative, called Prize Media You. So, if you want to learn how to restore your favorite browser’s settings and to uninstall the unwanted changes, we suggest you read on the information that follows. There is a special Removal Guide below, as well as a helpful automatic removal tool, both of which can help you remove the unwanted ads, pop-ups, and toolbars in a fast and reliable way.

What are the symptoms of Prize Media You?

Most computer viruses, namely Trojans, Worms, Spyware, and Ransomware are very difficult to detect. Programs like Prize Media You, however, are easy to spot because they invade your default browser in quite visible and intrusive way. They basically tend to hijack (therefore called Browser hijackers) your Chrome, IE, Mozilla or any other browser that you have installed on your PC and to modify the way it operates. Prize Media You, for instance, is very likely to incorporate some new homepage domains or search engine tools or to install a new toolbar the moment it gets installed on your machine. With this action, the program ensures that every time you open your browser, you will see certain ads, pop-up messages, banners or offers and would be automatically redirected to certain promotional links or web pages. In most of the cases, the content, that gets displayed on the screen informs about its source with the help of a small text stating something like “Ads generated by Prize Media You” or “Powered by Prize Media You”. Such activity is generally seen as harmless, but it could be really irritating and undesired because it may seriously disturb the normal users’ browsing.

How can Prize Media You get installed on your browser?

If you want to understand the way annoying programs like Prize Media You may get incorporated into your system, then you should first ask yourself where do you get most of your software form and how do you install new applications on your computer? Do you often download different add-ons, free setups, and updates from torrent sites, shareware platforms, free download links or sketchy spam ads? Do you usually run the setup without reading the EULA? And are you skipping the small text and clicking on the Automatic installation button without paying attention to the Custom/Advanced settings? If yes, then you are very likely to end up with a nagging browser hijacker, an adware or even a nasty computer virus such as Ransomware or Trojan horse on your system. This is because there are many potentially unwanted programs out there on the Internet and a large number of them usually are bundled inside different software installers, free download links, automatic installation managers, attachments and update requests. So, if you don’t pay close attention, you may unknowingly install them by simply clicking on the usual “Automatic” or “Quick” installation options and make them part of your system without wanting.

Why is it a good idea to uninstall Prize Media You?

Browser hijackers such as Prize Media You are generally not a security threat. They lack the typical harmful scripts of the real viruses and their purpose is not to damage your machine but simply to advertise sponsored content on your screen. Still, if you keep them on your PC, you may face some rather annoying issues, which may quickly irritate you. For instance, these pieces of software may generate an enormous amount of ads, hard-to-remove pop-ups, banners and different sponsored links on your screen every time you are browsing. They may also frequently initiate page-redirects to sites, different than the ones you are actually looking for. As a result, you may not be able to use your browser effectively and may constantly have to deal with ads interruptions and lose a lot of time trying to remove popping new tabs from your screen. That’s why, in most of the cases, we usually recommend our readers to have the browser hijacker removed in order to get rid of the disturbance. Luckily, this task normally doesn’t require any special skills or assistance from a security professional. Usually, a simple scan with a professional malware removal tool, such as the one on this page, could easily deal with programs like Prize Media You and clear the system from their nagging ad-generating and page-redirecting scripts. Alternatively, some users may like to use manual instructions (see the Removal Guide) to delete the unwanted software.
