Propel Sphere

Propel Sphere is an ad-generating and page-redirecting browser extension classified as a browser hijacker because of the unwelcome changes it introduces to the browser. Propel Sphere can change the search engine service and alter the address of the new-tab page without allowing you to revert the changes.

The app that is currently tampering with the settings of your Chrome, Firefox, or Safari browser isn’t some harmful Trojan, Ransomware, or Spyware virus. It is a browser hijacker and this means that you are likely to notice changes in different elements of the browser. Most commonly, the users realize that their browser’s homepage has been replaced and that a new homepage address greets them every time they start the browser. Such changes are usually introduced to the browser without the user’s direct approval and their purpose is to turn the affected browsing program into an ad-generating platform that constantly exposes the user to various forms of online advertisement. Some hijackers go as far as to redirect the user’s searches through the newly imposed search engine and homepage to sites that need promotion. Of course, the users themselves probably don’t want to visit those sites and this activity only disrupts their regular browsing.

Propel Sphere for Mac

Propel Sphere for Mac is a specific type of malware that infects the browser disguised as an add-on and tries to modify the browser’s settings. Propel Sphere for Mac is one of the so-called browser hijackers and it seeks to generate advertising revenue.

There, however, is an even bigger problem when it comes to browser hijackers. Those apps may be annoying, but what’s worse about them is that their redirects and random ads could sometimes be linked to unsafe sites or sites with misleading content. For example, it is not uncommon for users to get redirected to websites that have many clickbait ads in them that promote sham or low-quality software. Also, some hijackers may land you on phishing pages that seek to obtain sensitive information about you, including your name, online usernames and passwords, banking details, and so on.

What is Propel Sphere?

Propel Sphere is a junkware app for Mac responsible for sudden page-redirects in the browser that land the user on unknown and potentially unsafe sites. In and of itself, Propel Sphere isn’t harmful, but its redirects may possibly make your computer exposed to danger.

The browser hijackers themselves, like Propel Sphere and Stateful Firewall, aren’t specifically created to harm your system or expose you to misleading content and threats like Ransomware and Trojans. Their uncontrolled advertising activities, however, may indeed lead to a decrease in your Mac’s safety.

The PropelSphere app

The PropelSphere app is a sort of software that is designed to get your browser redirected to some partnering sites in order to artificially improve their traffic. The PropelSphere app may initially seem like a regular browser extension but it is actually an unwanted application.

If you are concerned about the safety of your Mac and want to minimize the chances of encountering ads that may compromise the computer and make it vulnerable to Trojans, Spyware, Ransomware, and other similar threats, we advise you to make use of the following instructions and through them remove the unwanted app.
