In this article we will do our best to offer some help to you in terms of the fight against a malicious program known as Qkg Ransomware. This file-encrypting Ransomware virus is among the most terrible threats you will ever have to counteract while browsing the web. Not only is such a virus more than simply dangerous, but it is also incredibly difficult to deal with and remove. Therefore, even some of the specialists in this malware field consider it to be very challenging to successfully cope with this kind of viruses and save the affected data. In the passages below you are going to get some free tips regarding the removal process of Qkg, and some prevention info that is supposed to help against such threats as a whole.

Qkg Ransomware – a standard file-encoding Ransomware virus. Characteristics and details:

The exact virus version we are talking about here is Qkg Ransomware. It’s a typical representative of the data-encrypting Ransomware subtype. What it could be up to if it has infected your device is:

  • The completion of a full and thorough scanning of the storages of your PC;
  • The compilation of an elaborate list with all the data that has recently been in use;
  • The implementation of a process of encrypting every single file from that list with a sophisticated encryption code;
  • The generation of a scary ransom notification;
  • The act of threatening you even further and harassing you into paying the required ransom;

As a whole, Ransomware is the common name of all the file-encrypting, desktop-encoding and mobile-blocking viruses. The data-encryption category has been described in detail above. What the representatives of the other two malware subfamilies might do is they can deprive you of your access to the desktop of the affected computers/ laptops; or to the screen of your portable devices, such as your smartphone or tablet. The good news is that not a single file is affected by any virus from these subgroups. You are simply going to receive a full-screen alert that is going to prevent you from accessing your icons and shortcuts. Once again, a ransom is going to be demanded from you.

Note: If you are sure something is part of the infection – delete it, even if the scanner doesn’t flag it. No anti-virus program can detect all infections.

notepad %windir%/system32/Drivers/etc/hosts

A new file will open. If you are hacked, there will be a bunch of other IPs connected to you at the bottom. Look at the image below:

hosts_opt (1)

If there are suspicious IPs below “Localhost” – write to us in the comments.

Type msconfig in the search field and hit enter. A window will pop-up:

Go in Startup —> Uncheck entries that have “Unknown” as Manufacturer.

  • Please note that ransomware may even include a fake Manufacturer name to its process. Make sure you check out every process here is legitimate.

What should you do after you have received the ransom-demanding notification?

To be exact, all you can and have to do is to simply remain patient and explore other alternatives before resorting to transferring the requested ransom. On no condition is giving your money to some scammers even close to a wise idea, and we are going to tell you the actual reason why below. It is actually that you will never have any real guarantee for the restoration of your sealed files, even in case you have provided the wanted money to the hackers. Please, don’t fall into their trap and pay right away. Simply wait to see whether the other removal possibilities will work out.

But is there an efficient way to really get rid of Qkg? It is really hard for us to give you any advice about what to do in case of such a terrible infection. However, removing this virus should certainly be your top priority right now. In spite of the fact that the odds are apparently against you, you can always check whether the Removal Guide attached below will work. We have designed it to solve problems like yours, and it could indeed be effective. However, we cannot really guarantee anything about the safe future of your encrypted files. Just explore the available options!

Prevention is only able to guarantee a positive outcome against Ransomware:

What’s more, it is compulsory to avoid the likely sources of the malware we have been talking about here:

    • Some of the emails you receive and whose senders you cannot recognize. Be especially cautious with the ones with odd subjects, and those written in an illiterate way. They may result in some very disturbing malware-related issues.
    • Some of the email attachments: oftentimes even text documents and images could be carriers of file-encrypting malware.
    • Some of the links on websites, or from the inside of chat messages, which appear not to be particularly trustworthy.
    • Almost all online ads you may happen to see while online. For sure, there are no visible differences between the harmless ones, and their malicious counterparts. Whereas you cannot tell the good apart from the bad, our basic tip is to avoid them all.
