Try the following. How R and the windows button, then type msconfig in the new pop up. You will be transported to a new window. Go to the Startup tab and unselect anything that has “unknown” as manufacturer.

In reply to Stefan Sadakov. Hi, I am facing the same issue as above. I followed all the steps mentioned by you but could not locate that ectemsion anywhere. And now when I restart I get the same issue in chrome. Please help as this issue is very irritating.

Complete all the steps even if you can't find the virus in your extensions, etc. There are different "versions" to these things and it's practically impossible to dicern which one you have, but they all have small differences. Complete all the steps even if something isn't applicable, then tell me if the problem still persists.

I have a problem: Ad Free App is not listed anywhere under programs or in my extensions. I’ve had these types of viruses before and I was easily able to find them in extensions and programs, but this time I can’t find them anywhere, and I still get ads by them. I did a scan with Windows Defender, and it found two malicious programs. I removed them, but I’m still getting ads by them. I don’t know how I got these in the first place. I’ve had Windows Defender since I got my computer, but I’ve kept having to remove these viruses. I don’t really want to pay for another anti-virus software (a free McAfee scan couldn’t find anything), nor do I want to pay somebody else to fix it. I just can’t find the virus anywhere.
