Adware viruses are the most common viruses that your computer can come in contact with. Thus it is no surprise that your computer has been infected with “Ads by Jumbo Sale”, since “Ads by Jumbo Sale” is a virus which belongs to the Adware family. These things pose little direct danger to your computer, but they can be a a real pain in the ass to put up with. They can also be hard to remove, unless you know exactly what to do. Deleting every file associated with the virus is vitally important, because if you don’t get them all it’s possible that the virus will greet you the next time you start your computer.

Do not interact with the Ads

There are two good reasons why you should never click on any Ads.

First – you can never be sure if the Ads are leading you to a real site or a fake. The fakes will look just like the legitimate sites they copy and their URL address will be nearly the same – with only a few characters in difference perhaps. Spend any money is obviously a very risky and unwise move, so you are better off just ignoring these Ads until the virus is removed.

Secondly – Adware often spread viruses. Whenever you are offered to download a file there is a good chance that file will be some kind of virus. It is an established fact that some of the most dangerous viruses like Ransomwares and Trojans use the “services” of Adware viruses like “Ads by Jumbo Sale”. NEVER download and install anything offered by “Ads by Jumbo Sale”.

Methods commonly used by viruses, “Ads by Jumbo Sale” included

The most likely way that “Ads by Jumbo Sale” might have used to get into your computer is through some kind of installer, as an additional program. In fact Adwares like installers with extra bundled programs attached to them. If you are looking at the installer for some free program, then there is a greater chance that one or more of the bundled programs will actually be Adwares. For this reason we never recommend using the default installation option for programs. Using Advanced is a much better idea. Pressing next a couple of times will give you the safe as default, but in addition you will be able to see what exactly will get installed and you have control over this. We recommend you block access to any additional applications you don’t really need.

Torrent and storage sites can be very dangerous too. If the main file is not infected then there is a good chance you’ll be shown multiple “Download” buttons. If you try to download a file from the wrong button you’ll still be offered a file with the name of the file you want, but that file will have the executable file extension (.exe) and what’s inside will be a virus. And if you are unlucky it can be a very dangerous one.

This is perhaps the most important and difficult step, so be extremely careful. Open the Task Manager by right clicking on the Taskbar and choosing Start Task Manager.

Once it opens, choose the Processes Tab. Look at all of the processes in front of you and try to determine which ones are a virus. Right click on each of the virus processes separately and select Open File Location. Also, End the process after you open the folder. Just to make sure we don’t delete any programs you mistakenly took for a virus, copy the folders somewhere, then delete the directories you were sent to.
