  1. A page/tab full of Ads is generated every time you open your browser or load a new page
  2. Words in texts you read are randomly “enhanced” with hyperlinks, another form of Ads
  3. Random toolbars are getting installed without your permission, your default search engine is changed
  4. Banners and pop-ups randomly appear to deliver warning messages about potential problems with your computer and you are offered to download a free program to repair them.
  5. You are also likely to experience slowdowns as your CPU has to load the Ads every time you open a page. The Ads might also generate bandwidth and cause pages to open slower if your internet is not that fast.

So as long as you have Ads by Max AdBlocker Plus on your computer you may be experiencing any number of things from the list above, but those will cause no serious damage.

The real danger comes if you try to interact with the Ads. There is absolutely no guarantee if the hyperlinks behind the Ads will deliver you to a legitimate seller site, or a copy-cat site that imitates a real one. If you land on a fake all money paid will be burned.

Any file downloaded and installed poses an even more prominent danger. Anything offered by Ads by Max AdBlocker Plus is likely to be infected with a virus or at least merely try to scam you into buying a program that doesn’t work.

For both of this reasons we advise you to proceed with the removal guide below. In the off chance that something in the Ads caught your attention remember that you can always do a manual google search and get the thing you want from the official site of the developer – 100% virus free.

This is perhaps the most important and difficult step, so be extremely careful. Open the Task Manager by right clicking on the Taskbar and choosing Start Task Manager.

Once it opens, choose the Processes Tab. Look at all of the processes in front of you and try to determine which ones are a virus. Google them or ask us in the comments and we will provide the best assistance we can. If the virus returns later on, the reason is that you missed something here.

Right click on each of the virus processes separately and select Open File Location. Also, End the process after you open the folder. Just to make sure we don’t delete any programs you mistakenly took for a virus, copy the folders somewhere, then delete the directories you were sent to.

We’ve had reports that this virus can come back after you uninstall it. This usually takes place on system boot. If this happens, do the following:

Type Regedit in the windows search field and press Enter.

Once inside, press CTRL and F together and type the virus’s Name. Right click and delete any entries you find with a similar name. Alternatively, if you can’t find any this way, look in these directories, and delete the registries manually:

  • HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—–Random numbers
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—Microsoft—-Windows—CurrentVersion—Run– Random
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER—-Software—Microsoft—Internet Explorer—-Main—- Random
