Attention!!! Read here first!!!
Ads by PriceGotLower is a known threat from the adware class. This is a malicious software, which you have probably guessed already as Adware happens to derive from the words Advertisements and Malware, commonly described as the least harmful type of virus you might encounter. That is if you leave it alone and not interact with it in any way, meaning clicking on the numerous pop-ups you are going to get bombarded with, but more on that later. If you do interact with it though things are going to change very quickly and you and your system will be exposed to numerous dangers and woes. Do not despair, even if this happens you can still protect yourself by reacting quickly and doing your best to remove Ads by PriceGotLower from your computer.
Dangers, dos and dont’s:
- As previously mentioned you will likely get swarmed with pop-ups every time you decide to open your internet browser. Stay disciplined and do not click on any such messages or windows.
- While browsing you will often be redirected to fake websites that may be looking like the real deal but be completely fraudulent at the same time. Leave there as swiftly as possible because more malware is on its way to your computer.
- In the case of your system getting infected with Ads by PriceGotLower and you being successfully tricked into letting it get to your hard drive, then you face the very real and frightening danger of your browse history, cache, cookies and more importantly your saved passwords getting stolen and accessed by the adware’s creators. The good news is you probably have some time before that happens, it usually takes somewhere between 5 and 7 days. What you will want to do is remove the threat as quickly as possible and then change all your passwords, especially the ones concerning online payments.
How did I get infected with Ads by PriceGotLower in the first place?
This type of malicious software more often than not comes bundled together with a program that you are looking to install on your PC. The aforementioned program is most probably legit and completely free. Many times what is included in the installation bundle will be harmless freeware, but sometimes what you will get is adware like Ads by PriceGotLower or similar. The way to ensure this does not happen to you is to click Advanced Options during the installation process and select for yourself what gets installed on your hard drive and what not. Sure, oversights are a possibility but try not to get carried away and click NEXT before checking exactly what it is that you are going to install. If it happens though and you incidentally let a virus in, try to stay calm and remove it as fast as you can.
