Application Nation Ads Overview
PAY ATTENTION HERE, PLEASE! If you are reading these sentences, then you have come to the conclusion you have been infected by a computer virus. What you probably don’t know is that its type – adware (ads + malware) – is notorious for manipulating the users whose PCs it latches on to. This is especially dangerous because most people are unaware of the innate dangers of agreeing to anything that is presented by Application Nation Ads. If you click accept on any of its propositions, you’ell end up with more adware at best; at worst – a ransomware. Ransomware are the type of things that real anti-virus programs exist to eradicate. It is the most dangerous malware class on the net. It forcefully encrypts any files it can get its hands on and demands money to give you the key to release them. If you fail to pay up the ransom during a countdown, the key is destroyed.
While we understand your need to remove Application Nation Ads immediately, we ask you to read the following few points. They may be very useful if you ever find yourself in a similar position in the future. Above everything, just remember that the virus will ask for some kind of PERMISSION. If you do not give it that, you will basically tie its hands behind its back. Application Nation Ads certainly doesn’t have the necessary credentials to operate without a user’s consent:
- You will probably start encountering a lot of fake updates for Windows, Java, Flash Player, Acrobat reader or many anti-virus programs, all impersonated by the virus. It will ask to renew its database or download a newer version. An important note is that these updates can be displayed outside of web browsers.
- Most of the ads and hyperlinks send you not to the target products, but to completely unrelated websites filled with viruses. The big problem here is that many of these newly opened tabs are scheduled to begin downloading an installer after a few seconds. If you get caught by surprise, chances are you won’t have time to react in an efficient manner. If that happens and the installer starts, turn on the Task manager, find the process associated with the setup, and shut it down. DON’T click cancel/exit. Application Nation Ads’s buddies like to complete installing themselves anyway. These buttons are just there to confuse you.
- Corrupted banners will appear out of nowhere on the edge of web pages, asking you to install missing plugins.
Some big problems Associated with Application Nation Ads
Aside from these few things, we’ve detected that a prevalent slowness usually comes with the virus. Removing Application Nation Ads will of course cure this, but we decided to mention it anyway. If you feel your PC is lagging too much, close all tabs except this one. The advertisements and links are the ones causing the problem since they are forced on the web pages’ layout. Your PC has to generate them, not merely show them to you, so the CPU takes some heavy hit in terms of loading time. And of course, the most dangerous thing we found out is that Application Nation Ads will try to steal your accounts. Be careful which sites you visit while infected, because the virus dutifully plays scribe and records everything. The information is sent to whoever created it about a week later, which means you likely still have time. But we recommend that you change your passwords when you are virus-free. Especially the ones that use your credit cards.

Once it opens, choose the Processes Tab. Look at all of the processes in front of you and try to determine which ones are a virus. Google them or ask us in the comments and we will provide the best assistance we can. If the virus returns later on after you supposedly removed it, the reason is that you missed something here.
Right click on each of the virus processes separately and select Open File Location. Also, End the process after you open the folder. Just to make sure we don’t delete any programs you mistakenly took for a virus, copy the folders somewhere, then delete the directories you were sent to.
