This page aims to help you remove Virus. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

If you are struggling with an increased number of online advertisements that have recently started to bombard your screen during your browsing sessions, then you most likely want to know what the reason behind this irritation is as well as what you can do in order to put an end to this browser-related issue. If that is indeed your case, then know that the most likely source of the ads, the banners, the page-redirects, the pop-ups and of all other nagging advertising materials that are flooding your screen is a piece of software of the browser hijacker category. is an example of such an app – it is a software component that initially looks like a browser extension. It is compatible with popular browsers like Firefox and Chrome and capable of meddling with their settings by changing the search engine tool, the homepage and the new-tab page URL, the toolbar buttons as well as making other modifications to the browser, typically without needing the computer Admin’s permission. Also, as should already be apparent, it is also able to generate big numbers of intrusive ads on the screen of the computer while the browser is being used. This is, in fact, the main purpose of the apps of the browser hijacker category and any changes they may impose on the targeted browser are also likely going to be targeted at increasing the number of ads that the users are getting exposed to.

This however, isn’t supposed to harm your system or lead to any sort of damage to your files or computer. Hijackers are not like Trojans, Spyware, Ransomware and so on in the sense that they purpose is typically not malicious. Nonetheless, their presence on any computer could lead to great irritation to the users and that is why we will try to help you uninstall and remove by presenting you with a detailed removal guide that we advise you to follow.

We get asked this a lot, so we are putting it here: Removing parasite manually may take hours and damage your system in the process. We recommend downloading SpyHunter to see if it can detect parasite files for you.

Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC at the same time and go to the Processes Tab (the “Details” Tab on Win 8 and 10). Try to determine which processes are dangerous.

Right click on each of them and select Open File Location. Then scan the files with our free online virus scanner:

Drag and Drop Files Here to Scan
Maximum file size: 128MB.

This scanner is free and will always remain free for our website's users. You can find its full-page version at:

After you open their folder, end the processes that are infected, then delete their folders.

Note: If you are sure something is part of the infection – delete it, even if the scanner doesn’t flag it. No anti-virus program can detect all infections.

Hold together the Start Key and R. Type appwiz.cpl –> OK.

You are now in the Control Panel. Look for suspicious entries. Uninstall it/them.

Type msconfig in the search field and hit enter. A window will pop-up:

Startup —> Uncheck entries that have “Unknown” as Manufacturer or otherwise look suspicious.

To remove parasite on your own, you may have to meddle with system files and registries. If you were to do this, you need to be extremely careful, because you may damage your system.

If you want to avoid the risk, we recommend downloading SpyHunter
a professional malware removal tool.

The danger that the ads may represent

A hijacker is not a piece of software capable of stealing sensitive personal data from your computer or encrypting your files and blackmailing you for ransom payment. It will also not destroy any of your files or corrupt your OS – all of these malicious activities are typical for threats categories like Ransomware, Spyware, Trojan Horse infections and so on and so forth, but not for browser hijackers. Regardless, if you have a browser hijacker such as within your computer and if it is behaving in an irritating and unpleasant way, it’s still best if you remove it as there may still be certain hidden risks. For example, you may get prompted to download more sketchy software or to purchase items and products that false advertised and are made to look much better and more appealing than they really are. Also, the very fact that you are constantly getting forced to deal with the intrusiveness from the endless stream of ads should be enough of a reason to use our guide and eradicate with its help, which is what we strongly advise you to do in case you do indeed have this nagging app inside of your computer.

Type  Browser Hijacker
Danger Level Medium (nowhere near threats like Ransomware, but still a security risk)
Symptoms  A hijacker would likely disrupt your browsing experience by spamming you with ads and page-redirects.
Distribution Method Usually, hijackers get added to the installers of other software and get distributed in this way.
