CutterFunc Ads Overview

CutterFunc is a virus of the adware type that security experts recommend you uninstall immediately using the removal guide below. As a whole Adware do not have a lasting effect on your system, but they become more dangerous over time, and the majority of them (like CouponSignal AdsLooking For Travels and GovernorInspector) are even considered useful by some users. Unfortunately though, the typical scenario is that once it has boarded you, such a virus will take over all your browsers and bombard you with an assortment of unpleasant advertisements, pop-ups and fake banners that are all designed with the thought of infecting you with more of its type. There are several reasons why this is done, the main ones being to monetize through pay per click and to promote the websites these ads lead you to.

If you are not completely sure how the rogue agent presented here managed to enter your system, consider if any of the following occurred recently:

  • You opened spam email. Many users open such emails and their attachments after getting tricked by thinking a legitimate source or institution has contacted them regarding some “serious” matter. These are fakes that can be discerned by the lacking of proper grammar and spelling mistakes. (I guess hackers rarely have time for good education)
  • You visited live streaming websites and clicked on the advertisements covering the streams. These can be quite tricky because they have aggressive “close” signs that are actually fakes and open the ads too.
  • You downloaded and installed a free program – this is by far the most common. The software you installed was bundled with a virus. By the typical unwritten laws of EULA (End-users License Agreement) the setup should inform and ask if you want to include the bonus program. This one however was probably using the misleading method of introducing the bonus cotent at the last steps. Since most users do not pay attention and just click Next, they never realize that they just installed CutterFunc Ads or something similarly unpleasant.

Overall, CutterFunc Ads can have an effect on your CPU’s performance. If you’ve been having severe freezes, sound glitches when you’re playing music, stuttering, and browser crashing, the virus is to blame. These should pass as soon as you remove it.
