This page aims to help you remove Godlua Backdoor Malware. Our removal instructions work for every version of Windows.

Godlua is backdoor malware that can infect Windows OS and Linux OS users. The malicious program uses DNS over HTTPS protocol to avoid detection. There are two known versions for this malware, one targets Windows and the other one targets both OS.  One of the purposes of Godlua is to perform DDoS attacks. The version that can targets both OS is being constantly updated, which means that it might include additional features in the future.

A number of web users have recently been reporting that a particular Trojan which goes under the name of Godlua has secretly compromised their computers. Some of the infected users have reached out to our “How to remove” team with a call for aid and that’s why we decided to publish a special removal guide, dedicated to the elimination of Godlua Malware. Hopefully, the information that you will find in the next lines will help everyone who has had the misfortune to encounter this nasty infection, as well as those who want to protect themselves from it.

The representatives of the Trojan Horse family are very nasty computer threats which can have almost unpredictable consequences for the system and the users’ privacy. Typically, those threats can be kept responsible for a good range of criminal activities, some of which may involve theft, espionage, system corruption, file destruction, insertion of viruses, distribution of threats like Ransomware, and more.

Similarly to the wooden horse from the Greek well-known Greek myth, these computer threats use disguise and can be very creative in their attempts to trick the web users about their true nature and their purpose. Once they sneak inside the computer, however, the Trojans would show their true colors and would unleash their harmful code upon the infected system.

Godlua Backdoor Malware, for instance, as a typical Trojan, usually uses the disguise of a seemingly harmless file, link, image, intriguing ad or email attachment, in order to trick its victims into clicking on it.

Once the users click on the camouflaged transmitter, the infection immediately sneaks inside the system without showing any visible symptoms or red flags. This way, the Trojan can silently nest itself inside the OS and launch its harmful processes without being detected.

How to clean your system from the hidden infection?

Removing a Trojan like Godlua, can be a very challenging task, especially if you don’t know where exactly in the system the malware hides. That’s why one of the first things that you need to do is to correctly detect the harmful files that need to be deleted. If you don’t know how to do that or you are afraid that you may delete something important by mistake, it is best to follow closely the directions we have prepared in the removal guide below. Keep in mind, though, that Godlua Malware usually hides deep within your system and may even have the ability to mimic some regular system files. Therefore, it’s possible that you may happen to delete some some important OS data, which may, in turn, heavily corrupt the system instead of clean it from the infection. For this reason, if you are not sure what exactly you have to remove, we advise you to double check your PC with the professional Godlua Backdoor Malware removal tool from below as it is specialized in detecting and removing Trojans. Investing in such a tool is also good for the long term protection of your computer against different nasty infections, including Ransomware, Spyware, and Rootkits. Moreover, if you are a frequent web user and you browse different websites and platforms, you should know that there are many nasty threats that typically don’t show any visible symptoms and only a trusted security tool can detect them.
