This page aims to help you remove GootKit Malware. Our removal instructions work for every version of Windows.

A new Trojan-based virus called GootKit is rapidly spreading online and secretly attacking more and more victims. If you have the slightest suspicion that this infection might have sneaked inside your computer, we urge you to take immediate actions towards detecting and removing it. Otherwise, you may have to face some really unpredictable malicious consequences, which may affect your entire system, the data stored in it and all the valuable information related to your personal and professional life which could be found there. But how could you find and safely remove such a sneaky threat like GootKit Malware if you are an inexperienced computer user? On this page, we will show you all the necessary steps which can help you with this uneasy task. All you need to do is carefully study the instructions that have been published in the removal guide below or use the professional assistance of the GootKit Malware removal tool that has been attached there. Of course, you have to be careful with the execution of each of the steps if you don’t want to harm something else inside your system because GootKit is a very sneaky infection which may hide in various system locations and may even mimic completely legitimate system processes and files in order to remain undetected. Its stealthiness in combination with its advanced malicious abilities can lead to unpredictable damage which is why you really need to be extremely cautious. If not removed on time, this Trojan Horse may provide its criminal creators with remote access to the infected computer and allow them to modify, corrupt, replace, and install anything that they want. It can also serve as a backdoor to your computer for Ransomware or Spyware infections or as a tool for data theft and espionage.

In most of the cases, the infection with GootKit lacks any particular symptoms which is the reason why its timely detection could be very challenging. The victims may not have a clue that they have been compromised for a long period of time or at least until the effects of the Trojan’s harmful activities become apparent and start to cause real trouble. That’s why one of the best methods to detect such malware and to remove it before it manages to cause harm is to run a full system scan with reliable antivirus software. Investing in such software is also a good step towards prevention of future malware attacks because the hackers who create and spread infections like GootKit use various disguise methods to hide their malicious payload inside seemingly-harmless carriers, which the users may not be able recognize as malicious. The crooks typically spread Trojans via good-looking ads, phishing sites, legitimate-looking emails and attachments, intriguing offers and discounts and sometimes even fake update requests, which pretend to be have been send from a legitimate software developer. Unfortunately, in many cases, the users get tricked by these transmitters and click on them without scanning them for hidden malware and this is how the most infections happen. A good antivirus program, however, may effectively prevent the interaction through those malicious transmitters by notifying you and prompting you to take the necessary actions to avoid or remove the threat.
