This page aims to help you remove [email protected] Ransomware Virus for free. Our instructions also cover how any [email protected] file can be recovered.

Some of the worst forms of malware that can invade your computer are the Ransomware cryptoviruses and they don’t even try to harm anything inside the PC. All they do is start an encryption process that locks up the files in the PC with an advanced encoding that makes it impossible to open any of them regardless of what program you may try to use. School/College assignments, work projects, spreadsheets, important video, image and audio files or any other piece of data which may be important to the targeted user are bound to get locked-up if a Ransomware cryptovirus infection has entered the computer unnoticed. The lock-down on the files doesn’t damage or corrupt them and the computer still remains usable after the malware attack. However, if the files that have gotten sealed are important to the user and there are no backups of them, then this could be a rather serious issue. Many people lose days, weeks, months and even years worth of hard work due to a single malware infection with a cryptovirus. Of course, once the encryption process ends and the targeted files now cannot be opened by the user, the people controlling the malware give the following offer: if the victim carries out a ransom transaction sending a certain amount of money to the hackers, the latter would send back a unique decryption key that will make it possible for the locked up data to be accessed again on the infected computer. If the files that have been taken hostage are really that important, many people may be willing to opt for this course of action. We must warn you, though, that it is absolutely possible that the hackers do not actually keep their promise and simply accept the money and disappear after that. Because of this, it is typically preferable to first try other possible solutions like the guide below, which shows how you may try to deal with the new [email protected] Ransomware – the most likely reason most of you are on this page.

Choosing a course of action

It is surely difficult to determine which option would be better in a situation like this. Sometimes, paying the money that are demanded of you may actually yield the needed results. However, it may also lead to nothing more than an utter waste of a significant amount of money. If you are willing to opt for any potential alternatives, however, the first step is to ensure that your PC is cleaned and that [email protected] is no longer in it. The guide we offered you has that covered and will show you how to remove [email protected] However, this is actually the easy part. After you remove [email protected], you will need to try different things that may or may not bring your files back. In the best case scenario, you would have backups of your important files and simply copy the data back on the cleaned computer. In case you do not have backups, you may try the suggestions from the recovery section of the guide. However, we must warn you that these suggestions may or may not work depending on the specific case and on the severity of the Ransomware infection that you are dealing with.

Note: If you are sure something is part of the infection – delete it, even if the scanner doesn’t flag it. No anti-virus program can detect all infections.

notepad %windir%/system32/Drivers/etc/hosts

A new file will open. If you are hacked, there will be a bunch of other IPs connected to you at the bottom. Look at the image below:

hosts_opt (1)

If there are suspicious IPs below “Localhost” – write to us in the comments.

Type msconfig in the search field and hit enter. A window will pop-up:

Go in Startup —> Uncheck entries that have “Unknown” as Manufacturer.

  • Please note that ransomware may even include a fake Manufacturer name to its process. Make sure you check out every process here is legitimate.
