This page aims to help you remove Newsupdateunit.info “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

A recently reported browser hijacker named Newsupdateunit.info “Virus” has been disturbing the web browsing of some users as of late and has been redirecting them to unfamiliar promotional sites. This application is not some sort of a nasty Ransomware virus or a Spyware infection and has been developed to serve the needs of a group of online advertisers, who are trying to gain revenue from sponsored redirects and pay-per-click ads on the back of the unsuspecting web users. They have set their software to constantly generate different ads, pop-ups, banners and aggressive commercials on the browser’s screens and to manipulate the users’ searches in such a way, so that they would click on certain sponsored ads. Newsupdateunit.info “Virus” can easily alter the settings of browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Explorer and others and install some new homepage domains, a toolbar or a search engine there, which you may not be able to uninstall if the pesky hijacker is still present in the system. As a result, the quality of your web surfing experience may go down. The affected browser may start to bombard your monitor with lots of annoying ads and sponsored search results which are hard to get removed. If you happen to click on these messages, you may often find yourself getting redirected to different promotional platforms, new tabs and sites with questionable reputation. The content that you may come across may also be of poor quality and may lead you astray from the actual information that you might be searching for. Newsupdateunit.info “Virus” may try to make you click on certain links and may ask you to download and install different free tools, questionable applications and obscure add-ons. It may also display sketchy offers, which may be too-good-to-be-true, and may often promote products and services which may be unknown to the market or simply unreliable. The idea behind this activity is to boost the traffic and the clicks to the sites of some third-parties, which usually pay for such kind of aggressive online advertising.

From a legal point of view, there is usually nothing illegal or harmful in the way Newsupdateunit.info “Virus” operates. However, the browser hijacker may often employ some rather invasive online marketing methods such as the automatic page-redirects and the imposed browser changes mentioned above. It may also track your online activities to gather information about your preferences as well as cause issues such as sluggishness, crashes, and unresponsiveness to the affected browser. For these reasons, we usually advise our readers to uninstall the advertising software with the help of a professional removal tool or a manual removal guide like the one below.

How may Newsupdateunit.info “Virus” land on your PC and how to prevent this from happening?

Different free third-party applications, spam emails, suspicious websites, shareware platforms and other obscure software transmitters may oftentimes deliver a browser hijacker into your system if you happen to download and install their content. That’s why, to keep such annoying software away, it is advisable to avoid interaction with its most common sources. Also, another piece of advice about protection is to always pay attention to the installation settings when setting up a new program on your PC. Since the browser hijackers cannot actually infect a given PC in the same way Ransomware viruses or Trojan horse infections could, they can often be found under the Advanced or the Custom installation menu of other applications. You can easily remove them if you select that menu and then you won’t have to deal with their ads and browser changes later.
