This page aims to help you remove Start Siviewer “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.
This article will introduce you to a very annoying and irritating program, which falls in the category of the so-called Browser hijackers. The name of this program is Start Siviewer “Virus” and in the next lines, we are going to explain how exactly it operates, why so many people consider it potentially unwanted and how you can safely uninstall it from your system. If your Chrome, Firefox or Explorer has recently been modified – its homepage or search engine has been replaced with some unfamiliar one, and a bunch of unwanted ads, pop-ups and banners have started to redirect you to some strange web locations, then most probably you have this piece of software on your PC, and all of its changes won’t be fully removed unless you completely uninstall it. The end of this article includes a neat removal guide, which will show you how you can manually do that step by step, so stay on this page and read the instructions.
The real purpose of browser hijackers
The people, who install programs like Start Siviewer “Virus” on their system, usually do that with the idea that they are getting some software, which promises them certain functionality. Most of these pieces of software are usually available for free everywhere on the web (freeware, shareware, torrents, spam, direct downloads, automatic installers, software bundles) and are widely advertised as useful tools, which can enhance the users’ browsing experience, make it safer or somehow improve the overall web experience. Presented this way, no one would refuse the free programs, especially if they come in a nice and quick installation pack that takes no more than a minute to get installed. However, the moment the users install the software, they quickly realize that not much of the promised functionality is real, and even if it is, it comes at the price of a serious browsing disturbance.
Instead of providing some actual benefit, the browser hijacker starts to intrusively mess with the users’ default browser by imposing certain changes in its settings and initiating the generation of various unwanted ads, pop-ups, banners and promotional messages all over their screen. The real purpose of this type of software, in most of the cases, is actually this one: to serve as an aggressive online advertising tool and to employ different intrusive marketing methods (such as Pay-Per-Click or sponsored ads positioning) in order to bring profits for its developers. Start Siviewer “Virus” operates with the same purpose and often times, in its attempts to advertise and generate income, it ends up irritating the users and disturbing their web experience.
Are the hijackers harmful to your system?
The above-described effects of the hijackers could be good reasons for some people to refer to them as potentially unwanted and to eagerly want to uninstall them from their system. It is not difficult to understand why they may even mistake programs like Start Siviewer “Virus” for a virus or some other nasty infection. All in all, these programs initiate certain changes without their approval. However, this does not automatically mean that browser hijackers are viruses or some sort of a harmful computer threat. Their activity is strictly tied down to the generation of advertisements for the needs of the online marketing industry and has nothing to do with the destructive abilities of a virus or some Trojan-Ransomware based infection. All the reputed security experts can confirm that, especially because according to the law the approaches that hijackers implement are not seen as illegal and even though they can be aggressive, are not related to any actual system harm or destructive consequences for the users and their machines.
The most common complaints about browser hijackers
The most common complaints about programs like Start Siviewer “Virus” are related to their ability to impose some unauthorized, and oftentimes, very unwanted changes to the users’ default browser. Additionally, the hijackers may cause sudden crashes of the affected browser, freezing of the screen, general sluggishness and unresponsiveness as well as frequent page redirects, which may land the users on web locations they never intended to visit. Such activities can be very annoying and even disturbing, more so because the ads, pop-ups, and pages that may get displayed, may hide some potential security hazards, infected content, viruses and even malware like Trojan horses and Ransomware. You surely wouldn’t want to catch a nasty infection from some misleading page or fake ad, that’s why we would advise you generally not to trust and click on all the sketchy stuff that gets displayed on your screen. Do all the best to avoid them, or even better, completely remove them along with their source, for the sake of your safety.
