This page aims to help you remove “Rockettab Powered by” Ads. These “Rockettab Powered by” Ads removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.
Nowadays, advertisements are literally everywhere – on TV, on the radio, even on the streets. Recently their appearance on the Internet has been aided by the developing of Adware – special software for delivering pop-ups, banners and tabs, after infecting all your browsers – Firefox, Explorer, Chrome. “Rockettab Powered by” is a version of this ad-broadcasting type of software. What it can and it cannot do is explained in the paragraphs below.
The way “Rockettab Powered by” Ads work
You have already been given an idea of how a typical Adware program functions above. We are going to add in here that most Adware-based products could also track your browsing activity. Why would they do that? It is simple – to get a clue of your objects of interest. Then they might try to match the stream of produced pop-ups to what they think you are interested in. Some users may find such a feature quite obtrusive, other could even regard it as a useful one. However, the ones who are suspicious about such features appear to form the majority, as all Adware-type programs have been identified as potentially unwanted. As we have mentioned above, Adware represents the group of marketing-serving software that might strive to generate as many ads as it is possible at a given moment. This happens because the Adware developers get paid by product manufacturers and service providers to promote goods and services in the most efficient way. Some psychological research shows that the more you are exposed to something, the more you are likely to become interested in it. The whole ad-generating practice is based on that statement and encourages the constant distribution of ads. This may sound a little suspicious to you, but it is actually fully legitimate. Promoting products and services has never been illegal.
What are the potential sources of Adware?
Ad-generating programs might be found anywhere on the Internet. They might be incorporated into websites. They might be parts of torrents or shareware. Most commonly, they get distributed along with other types of software via program bundles. A Bundle is a mix of various programs, which you could usually download and use all its content for free. Of course, such a usually harmless program such as “Rockettab Powered by” cannot install itself on your computer. However, you can do that without even noticing by installing the entire content of a particular bundle. In order to use what you need from a software bundle and to avoid the Adware inside it, you have to make a wise choice regarding the way you are going to install such a mixture of software. Our honest advice is to stay away from all the wizard options that are named Easy, Quick or Default. They won’t give you the opportunity to opt out of the unnecessary software. Instead, use the Manual or the Advanced feature and you will be able to choose what you want and what you don’t need.
So we aren’t talking about a malicious program here, are we?
Luckily, “Rockettab Powered by” is not even close to an actual type of computer virus. Of course, its pop-ups might be too invasive and disturbing, but at least, your PC is safe from more serious damage. Typically, viruses like the most widely-spread Ransomware and Trojans will encode or destroy data, crash the whole device, steal some details, demand money or do something else that could result in sufficient damage, like spying on you or copying your key strokes. Such evil activities cannot be expected from a version of Adware. At the present moment the programs based on ad-distributing software are on their rise, because a big part of the world’s population has regular Internet access. This means that you have to be particularly careful in order to efficiently avoid them. Some of the recommended measures include implementing regular updates of your entire PC – both of the OS or any installed program. Another measure is to stay away from the possible sources of ad-producing programs, such as free bundles and spam mostly. Avoid anything that appears shady to you. Then a good practice could be to turn on your Firewall to be warned about contagious web pages.
