This page aims to help you remove Simplitec’s Simpliclean “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for every version of Windows.

There are many different programs out there and, needless to say, not all of them share the same level of quality and functionality. Some are really useful and offer a wide variety of different features while others might not be as good or as beneficial to the customer as advertised. Today, we will give you some information about a software tool called Simplitec Power Suite (a.k.a. Simpliclean) developed by Simplitec. Although this is a perfectly legitimate program and not a computer virus, contrary to what a lot of users think, there are a number of users and researchers out there who consider it to be a PUP – a potentially unwanted program. In the paragraphs below, we will elaborate upon the main functions and characteristics of this program as well as provide you with some more detailed information about its functionality and performance so that you can figure out for yourself whether it is an actual unwanted software piece or a program that you might still want to have on your PC.

What does it do?

Simplitec Power Suite or Simpliclean is a PC optimization utility designed to improve certain aspects of your machine’s system by cleaning its Registry Editor, fixing errors and deleting unwanted data. The power suite is actually a combination of several separate apps – Simpliclean, Simplifast and Simplisafe. Out of those three, only Simpliclean is advertised as “free”. According to the description from the official site. Simpliclean can detect and clean garbage data and temporary files left from various other applications on computer which could give you more free HDD space. Also, it is said that the app could also improve the battery life of your machine if you are using a laptop. Additionally, it supposedly provides power-save options that do not affect the performance of the laptop unlike the built-in Power Saver that Windows has, where the machine becomes significantly slower when this option is enabled. As we already mentioned, this program also cleans the Registry of the computer from unneeded keys that might be affecting the PC’s performance and it even comes with a secure deletion of files from the Recycle Bin.

How effective?

The thing about nearly all optimization software programs out there is that they are advertised as if the application would be able to make your aged machine feel like new or turn a weaker computer into a more powerful one. Neither of these are possible. Now, certain things can surely be improved by an optimization tool such as the Simplitec Power Suite but exactly how noticeable the difference would be is another question.

For instance, cleaning the Registry might add some improvement to the overall performance of the machine but it is likely going to be so slight that it would be next to unnoticeable. Also, although the program might indeed clean some temporary and junk files from your machine, the space that will be freed from this deletion of unneeded data is likely not going to make much of a difference. Nowadays, hard-drive space is cheap – even some low-end machines come with HDD’s that have at least a terabyte of storage capacity which is more than enough for most casual users. In comparison to that, the space that would get freed by Simpliclean is likely going to be pretty insignificant. This app also has an option called Multimedia Data Manager which allows the user to detect sizeable media files that take a lot of space and delete them to free the said space. This seems like a rather unnecessary feature that, again, doesn’t really do all that much. After all, any user who actually puts in any effort in managing their PC system would have an idea what media files they have and where they are stored so that they can find them and, if needed, delete them manually.

One last thing to mention with regards to the functionality of Simplitec Power Suite/Simpliclean is that the whole suite is not free, the only free element is the cleaner app and even that has a limited period of functionality. There is a twelve month trial period during which you can use the tool for free but after it expires, you’d need to purchase the whole suite in order to be able to use it.

You might not want it but still get it

One other thing to be mentioned about programs like Simplitec Power Suite/Simpliclean is that such PC optimizers are oftentimes distributed via file-bundles. Of course, you can download and install the tool from its official site but you might also get it installed onto your PC without really wanting it. Normally, this happens when the user rushes through the setup menu of a given program that has some added applications bundled with it, that are enabled by default. That’s why, you must always take the time to examine the setup menu of any new software that you want to get installed, and if there is anything added as an optional clause or install, uncheck it in case you deem it potentially unwanted.

If you want to remove it

Down below, we have added a guide for those of you who do not really want to have Simplitec Power Suite on their PC and would like to uninstall. Simply follow the listed steps and you should be able to remove the software in no time.
