This page aims to help you remove SkyFile Ransomware for free. Our instructions also cover how any .Sky file can be recovered.

Ransomware represents a kind of malicious software preventing or limiting users from accessing their PC or their personal files. That could take place either by locking the system’s screen or by encrypting the files on the PC. The most dangerous Ransomware subgroup, which is categorized as crypto-ransomware, may encode particular file types on the attacked devices and ask for a ransom payment. The exact version of these viruses we are reviewing below is SkyFile Ransomware. You will find all the info we have about the way this malware behaves and how it could potentially be fought throughout today’s article.

SkyFile Ransomware

The first types of Ransomware and their behaviour:

The first types of Ransomware that originated in Russia used to target the most common file types such as : .DOC, .XLS, .JPG, .ZIP, and .PDF. However, since then the criminals behind such viruses have also started targeting many other file formats such as database files, web page files, SQL files, CAD files, and Virtual desktop files. This is shouldn’t come as a surprise as these file formats are very important to many businesses and the hackers may be more likely to receive the ransom they demand by locking such data.

The evolved Ransomware types and their behaviour:

Nowadays, this extortion-oriented virus kind is still evolving. As a result – many new features have been added to it. For instance, the criminals behind newer Ransomware versions might have included countdown timers, ransom amounts rising over time, enabling the Ransomware to get distributed across networks and others. Moreover, the newest developments show the way the scammers are trying to experiment with new virus features – offering other ways of payment to make paying the ransom easier and also threatening to delete the data or harm the PC in case the user doesn’t agree to pay.

The potential ways to remove the virus:

Getting SkyFile Ransomware removed is not to be taken lightly since such malware is awfully dangerous. You really need a working solution for this problem. We can offer you to check out the removal instructions below as they might be exactly what you need (though no guarantees can be given in that regard). The sources and the infection caused by SkyFile Ransomware:

Users worldwide could face such a threat in a variety of ways. Ransomware versions may be downloaded on your personal computer whenever you go to some malicious or compromised web platforms. Also, it might come as a payload which is dropped or downloaded by other malware versions (like Trojan Horses). Some ransomware-based viruses are believed to get delivered in the form of attachments from spam emails, through malvertisements (contagious online ads like pop-ups and suspicious banners), or distributed by exploit kits to some vulnerable systems.

Once the infection has taken place and the files have gotten locked up, the malware would typically display a warning message informing the user about the lockdown of their personal data files. Furthermore, usually does contain the instructions about the payment of the demanded ransom.

Another thing you should be aware of is that all versions of Ransomware (including SkyFile) are considered “scareware”. The reason for that is the fact such viruses tend to make the affected users pay a certain amount of money (the so-called ransom) by intimidating them and by threatening them in order to force them to pay the wanted money.

The demanded ransom’s prices and the preferred types of payment:

The prices of the requested ransom could vary and that depends on the ransomware version or the price or exchange rates of the now famous online currencies. Because of the anonymity that these crypto currencies offer, the Ransomware creators commonly set the ransom payments to the ones made through bitcoins. The most contemporary Ransomware versions might also offer alternative payment methods. Those may, for instance, include online gift cards. Please note that in some rare cases, paying the demanded ransom may not really recover your data as you might not receive a functioning decryption key and we can’t really really tell you what would happen if you go for the ransom payment and make the demanded money transfer.
