Know the threat before you start dealing with it

Trojans are computer threats that are known to most web users. Their bad reputation comes from the many malicious abilities they have, as well as from their extremely difficult detection and elimination. Compared to most other computer viruses, the representatives of this malware category are a level ahead in their infection techniques and harmful abilities. SLocker, for instance, is a typical example of a new Trojan-based threat which is very sophisticated. It employs a whole arsenal of misleading and delusive tricks to get into the victim’s system and complete its criminal task. As every other Trojan, SLocker is very good at staying hidden and misleading the user. Its creators may disguise it as a legitimate-looking file, image, link, email attachment or interesting ad. This is the reason why when users come across it, they might often fail to recognize the threat which is then likely to lead to an infection with the malware.

The hackers who create viruses like SLocker are criminals and their malicious goals could be numerous. With the help of such advanced harmful malware, they can accomplish a wide variety of criminal tasks which could leave your computer severely damaged, sometimes to a state that it cannot be repaired. That’s why, it is vital to protect your PC with reliable antivirus software which can detect and remove the infection along with all of its hidden data.

What may happen to the PC if SLocker is not removed in time?

The Trojan nature is very versatile. Therefore, the harmful tasks this type of malware may perform may differ depending on each separate case. Basically, the crooks who are in control of the malware can set their creation to launch certain malicious activities which could be related to stealing data, spying on you, collecting personal or professional information, tracking your online and offline activities, corrupting some of your files, etc.

A piece of malware like SLocker might provide the hackers with remote access to the infected computer and let them modify your OS settings, delete information, corrupt important software or even insert other viruses. As per some recent reports, a fair share of ransomware contaminations usually happen thanks to the background work of a Trojan horse which creates vulnerabilities and introduces the other threat into the system. Basically, you should not expect anything good if this malware is present on your machine because all sorts of fraud, theft and corruption could be performed with it. For this reason, we need to yet again stress the importance of having SLocker removed immediately. You can clean your system from all its traces with the help of the instructions in the removal guide below.
