This page aims to help you remove T.cn “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.

If you enjoy installing free applications and browser plugins, watch out not to get your Chrome, Explorer or Firefox browser hijacked by a program called T.cn “Virus”. This program is a browser hijacking piece of software, which usually comes along with some other installation packages and promises to enhance your browsing experience, but in fact, it tends to replace your homepage or search engine and to redirect your web searches to certain sponsored web pages, ads, pop-ups, banners, and links. Such activity is generally not related to some virus-like activities (such as spying, file destruction or credential theft), however, it is not excluded that T.cn “Virus” may cause frequent browsing interruptions and irritation to some users. They may find themselves on some unfamiliar web pages full of different blinking messages every time they open their web browser and may face the need to uninstall the browser hijacker in order to save themselves from these interruptions. If you landed on this page to find out more about T.cn “Virus” and the ways to remove it, you have found the right place because here we have prepared a step-by-step removal guide with exact instructions on that. Before you check it out, though, we would suggest you read the next lines, as they will give you a good idea about the nature of this software and the way it operates.

Most probably T.cn “Virus” has hijacked your browser without your permission!

This is one of the reasons why you would be willing to remove this browser hijacker from your computer. Another reason is the problem of redirecting, initiated by T.cn “Virus”, which causes a headache and irritation to almost all computer users, who have the “joy” to face it. The problem with this program is that it does not concentrate on delivering quality search results because its primary aim is to generate income from sponsored search results. Therefore, every time you open your hijacked browser, it fills the results with paid records that lead to different third party web pages. Generally, this is seen as an aggressive online advertising approach, which does not intend to corrupt your system or cause any kind of harm that a real virus (let’s say Ransomware or a Trojan horse) could do. Therefore, according to the law, it is not seen as illegal. However, the security experts in our “How to remove” team would advise you not to click on the redirects and not to interact with the hundreds of pop-ups and offers that may appear on your screen. The reason is, these search results can be changed and customized and may land you on web locations with questionable safety.

Additionally, the longer the hijacker stays in your computer system, the longer it will collect information related to your browsing, such as queries, location of the device, IP addresses, and other similar data. All of this information can be transferred to the hijacker developers and can be used for marketing analyses, and can also be shared with third parties. This way, the information gathered can help provide you with tempting search results and pop-up ads that, once opened, can take you to dangerous websites that you would not normally visit. If you are concerned about your privacy, it is best to take care of uninstalling T.cn “Virus” without wasting your time. To facilitate the process, we strongly recommend using the instructions prepared by our specialists and removing the program through system scanning with trusted tools such as the T.cn “Virus” removal tool.

Techniques of spreading of T.cn “Virus”

Unfortunately, most of the potentially unwanted programs such as T.cn “Virus” are still considered legitimate, as their activity balances the edge of legitimacy. One of the things that makes them legal is their distribution method – unlike viruses, such as Trojans and Ransomware, that can sneak into the system without your permission, browser hijackers can technically be installed only with the user’s approval. Yet, they are distributed along with other free programs and usually hide their presence behind the default / standard installation Settings that the users choose instinctively, without even reading the EULA. Most browser hijackers that can be found on different torrent sites, ads, direct download links, spam messages or free installers are usually grouped with some free programs and presented as additional components, “recommended for download”. With this in mind, if you want to avoid installing suspicious third-party software, refuse to install additional products by choosing User or Advanced Setup, and uncheck the boxes for installing programs, which you consider potentially unwanted.
