This page aims to help you remove Unstopp.me “Virus”. Our removal instructions work for Chrome, Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as every version of Windows.
We have worked hard to prepare this article. It is designed to help you in dealing with Unstopp.me. This program is a legal version of a browser hijacker, which in spite of its usual harmlessness may at times be greatly irritating because of its usual effects, which usually involve modifying your browsers in various ways:
– by redirecting you to a great number of web locations whenever you just want to load a certain website and as a result make your surfing really annoying;
– by flooding your browsers with many pop-up and other unwanted ads;
– by setting some new and unfamiliar homepage and search engine, which you may not particularly like.
In addition, all of your browsers could become victims of software like this – not only Chrome and Firefox, but also Opera, Explorer and all the others you can think of. All about the known types of hijackers and Unstopp.me in particular can be read in the passages below. Browser hijackers along with Adware represent the most common online advertising tools. They may be considered rather unwanted because it is true that the redirection, ad streams and constant change of the default homepage/ search engine are not really pleasant to the affected users. Still, we are not talking about a virus here – only about means of online advertising.
What does “advertising software” really mean?
Ultimately, this term stands for Unstopp.me and its sibling programs which have strictly marketing aims only. In fact, such programs are created with the only purpose to popularize services, products, homepages, search engines, web pages, various software and other kinds of goods. Every producer and service provider out there wishes to have a legal advertising tool because the Internet is becoming more easily available to more and more people worldwide. As a result, Adware and browser hijackers were developed. When we talk about these ad-broadcasting programs, all the parties involved benefit from the annoying ad campaigns conducted by them. The manufacturers get whatever they produce promoted, and programmers earn enough money to continue with their activities.

Is Unstopp.me “Virus” a similar to any virus?
At the beginning of this article we mentioned that browser hijackers are generally fully legal. Computer viruses, on the other hand, are illegal. For instance, Ransomware and Trojans are awfully dangerous and can result in a lot of illegal activities, done to or by your PC such as spam distribution or file encryption. However, a program like Unstopp.me cannot inflict any damage to you personally or your PC.
How you might end up catching a Unstopp.me-caused infection:
As we have already said before, there is nothing illegal about hijackers. Thus, you can assume that none of these programs could come to your PC unauthorized. Still, the infection might happen subtly via tricking you into giving your permission for the installation of such an annoying program. This might happen in the following ways:
- You might follow an ad and willingly load a web page which distributes such software. Although you might click on such an ad unintentionally, this is a tricky way of making you get to the source of the hijacker yourself.
- Perhaps you have seen these tempting sets of free games and programs called bundles. Well, we have to tell you that they are the biggest source of advertising software ever created. What happens because of them is that you end up really wanting to download such a combo and try any of its components for free. You download it and your anti-virus tool is silent, as the download of a bundle is not what infects your device with a program like Unstopp.me. However, the installation process is what can leave you with an infection.
If you would like to avoid the infection with a hijacker, there is a specific way in which the installation process of any software you download from the Internet should be done. When you see the displayed installer, take a careful look at all the included installation options. There should be an option which is called Advanced (or Manual, or sometimes Custom/ Customized). Select this exact option and proceed with the subsequent installation steps. Forget about using the other available options, such as Default and Quick, as these will likely install the included hijacker as well.
Removing and avoiding Unstopp.me “Virus” is a process:
For the sake of your device and you, practice daily prevention. Indeed, it is not that difficult to get rid of Unstopp.me. But it might be hard to deal with other nasty cyber threats. That’s why you need to mind the software sources you use, you need an effective anti-malware tool and also – you have to master the installation skill we have mentioned above.
