This page aims to help you remove WanaDecryptor Virus File Ransomware for free. Our instructions also cover how any @[email protected] Virus file can be recovered.

In this article we are striving to provide some help to you for learning all you need to know about a specific version of Ransomware: WanaDecryptor Virus. This encryption-causing virus is among the most terrible threats you may ever come across while surfing the Internet. Not only is it awfully malicious, but it’s also disturbingly complex to remove. As a result, even many professionals could find it hard to get rid of this sort of malware and save the affected PC, or to restore the data it locks up. In the text below we are sharing some free advice regarding the removal process of WanaDecryptor Virus, as well as some prevention tips, which are supposed to function against such threats in general.

@[email protected] Virus – typical file-locking Ransomware. Its characteristic features in details:

The particular virus we are discussing here is called WanaDecryptor Virus. It’s an exemplary representative of data-encrypting Ransomware. What it might be up to once it has invaded your device is:

  • To complete a full and thorough scan of your hard disks and all the other storage space of your computer;
  • To compile a detailed list with all the files, which have recently been in use;
  • To conduct a process of encrypting every single file from the aforementioned list with an awfully hard-to-crack encryption key;
  • To generate a terrifying ransom notification;
  • To threaten you even further and try to harass you into paying the demanded ransom.

Generally, Ransomware comprises the data-encoding, desktop-encrypting and mobile-affecting subtypes. The file-encrypting category has been thoroughly described above.  What the viruses from the other two subgroups can do is take away your access to the desktop of the computers/laptops; or to the screen of your phones or tablets. The good news is that not as single file gets affected by a virus from these subcategories. You will just receive a full-screen notification and it will prevent you from accessing your icons and apps. Again, a ransom will be demanded for the removal of the big ransom alert.

The way you should behave after you have received the ransom-requiring message:

Basically, all you can do and NEED to do is to just BE PATIENT AND WAIT before paying the demanded ransom. Never is giving your money to some cyber criminals anywhere near being a sensible idea, and we will tell you the real reason why. It’s simply that you never get any real guarantees for the recovery of your locked-up files, even if you have sent the demanded amount of money to the hackers. Don’t get into the trap and pay immediately! Just wait to see how the other removal methods will work out.

Is there a real way to eventually get rid of an WanaDecryptor Virus-inflicted infection?

Actually, it is very difficult for us to share any advice about what to do in case of such a horrible contamination. Despite the apparent lack of positive chances, you could always see whether the Removal Guide included below can help you. We have created it for solving problems like yours, and it may really be useful. Nevertheless, we can’t guarantee anything about the future of your encrypted data for sure. Simply explore the available solutions and see whether they will work.

Prevention is the only sure guarantee for a positive outcome in the fight against Ransomware

Moreover, it is recommended and logical to avoid the probable sources of this malware, which we have mentioned below:

  • Some emails, which you have received and whose senders you are not able to recognize. Be especially careful with the ones that have odd subjects and the ones written in an illiterate way. They are likely to result in some very disturbing malware contaminations.
  • Some email attachments: even text documents and images may be carriers of file-encrypting viruses.
  • Any links on web pages, or from the inside of chat messages, which do not appear trustworthy.
  • Nearly all the pop-up, banner and box message ads, which you could happen to see on the Internet. Indeed, there are no visual differences between the harmless ones, and those, which are malicious. While you cannot recognize the good from the bad ones, our advice is to stay away from them all.
  • You may happen to get some suspicious desktop alerts, which might say you are supposed to update a component of your system – avoid such messages.
