This page aims to help you remove .Wcry Ransomware Virus for free. Our instructions also cover how any .Wcry  file can be recovered.

To begin with, Ransomware represents some extremely harmful, complex malware, which is mainly used for making a user unable to access their files. This can happen as the favorite data of the victim user normally get encrypted with a very complicated key consisting of a Private and a Public part. To get the Private Key component, the user victim has to pay some money as a ransom. If the affected person refuses to do so, the hackers threaten that they will delete the contaminated data for good. The virus we have talked about in the following article is exactly a very hazardous representative of the Ransomware family .Wcry Ransomware Virus.

.Wcry Ransomware Virus – one of the most dangerous programs ever existed:

Precisely, .Wcry Ransomware Virus is a type of crypto-Ransomware. The viruses from this subcategory of ransom-demanding software really lock up data and then ask for a ransom in exchange for the access to the encrypted files. Still, there are also other different Ransomware subcategories such as the screen-locking, or browser-blocking Ransomware, which can simply keep you out of your system or make it impossible for you to access any browser. In the case of .Wcry Ransomware Virus, some files are made inaccessible to you and after that you are harassed into paying some cyber criminals a ransom.

Possible sources:

Such malicious programs may get distributed via multiple sources: by drive-by downloads; contagious web sites, false update requests, fake online ads, torrents, video-streaming web pages, spam emails and even emails coming from your Inbox and their corresponding attachments. In some cases, a version of Ransomware could infect your system together with a Trojan, which makes the infection double and not only that, but two times more hazardous. Generally speaking, Trojans are viruses able to benefit from any vulnerability your system may have or the programs installed might have, and may result in lots of diverse malicious effects.

The Encryption process:

Immediately after .Wcry Ransomware Virus has infiltrated your system, the virus starts gathering info about the files you most regularly use and access. Soon after that, all of the details about these files (such as location and sizes) are gathered and the real encoding process gets launched. It comprises blocking the data from the already prepared list with the commonly used data. Such a contamination process does not easily get reversed. Even some professionals may find it very hard to counteract such a malicious threat.

Potential solutions to the issue:

  1. Perhaps you will consider paying the demanded ransom:

Quite honestly, doing so is not wise at all. How will you ensure that the hackers will not just leave with thousands or hundreds of your money? It is very risky. Eventually, you may end up both deprived of your important data and of your hard-earned money. We will never recommend such a decision, however, it is totally up to you. Just go with the thought that even making the decision to comply with the hackers’ requirements does not equal saving your data.

  1. You may consider consulting an expert:

In fact, this idea is very clever. A person with some valuable experience in dealing with such threats may be incredibly helpful, and might be exactly the thing you need to counteract the infection successfully. However, we want to remind you that even an expert could have some hard time dealing with such a harmful online program. All in all, this decision is among the best ones you can make.

  1. Maybe our Removal Guide will be the tool you need to stop the infection and save your locked-up files:

However, once again, we can give you absolutely no guarantees. Unfortunately, your files may disappear forever together with the uninstalled malware even you manage to remove it successfully, which is not sure either. Nonetheless, we DO suggest that you should at least give it a try and use our Removal guide for this complex, often impossible task. At least, you will lose nothing in this way.

Some extra information on prevention:

To be completely, honest there is only one always successful solution against Ransomware. It is prevention – simple as that and hard as that at the same time. Simply stay away from the possible sources of .Wcry Ransomware Virus. What’s more, improve the status of your cyber safety by buying the best anti-malware program you can afford. Also, always install all the required system updates. Ensure that your system will be able to successfully fight all kinds of threats in time and you will not regret it.
